Open 24 hours with a great meat department, this local store has all of the amenities of a larger supermarket chain with the convenience of being very close both neighborhood and apartment-style housing.
Recently, it has added a pharmacy, though this is housed in a temporary building in the parking lot.
The customer service I have received at all hours has been very helpful and friendly, unlike some of the less experienced staffs in the area
The quality of the food is good, and the prices are somewhat better. The prices are more expensive than Safeway, and lesser quality than Larry's close by, but like I said, the service and convenience make it all the worthwhile. Price wise, they are getting more competitive with their coupon card offerings.
Overall, as long as you're not looking for a particularly obscure food item, you will find some quality food for decent prices, with good service at this Supermarket.

Pros: Newly remodeled Safeway. Beside an experienced Great Clips and Liquor store. Good Deli, Bakery and China Express, Organic Foods store.
Cons: stockers aren't that experienced and sometimes can appear a little lost. 9am - 1 am is just silly for a Safeway.
Overview: Nearby Woodinville, Bothell and Kirkland, this Juanita Safeway does have quite a few things that are next to it. Other than the things mentioned above it is near a 7-11, Dairy Queen, Blockbusters, McDonald's (with play area... though it's awfully cold in the winter).
Inside, the Starbucks closes way too early at about 7 or 8 pm but the staff are about average in speed. Pastries offered primarily come from the in-store bakery as the ones offered from the main office tend to be a little... stale.
Carts are stored outside in a covered area, so those with children who are sensitive to such things, will probably appreciate a coat placed under them once they are in the store.
Overall? This Safeway seems to be like many newly remodeled ones in the area, nice amenities, with a staff that still needs seasoning. Only the hours and staff are drawbacks.

OK, so your 5 year old needs a humidifier because he's got a new cough, your 3 year old has a runny nose, and your 1 year old needs to have have her antibiotic refilled and you just happen to run out of diapers at the wrong time. You're in Kirkland and it's 2:30 in the morning, what do you do?
Walgreens to the rescue!
Yup, this is a one stop, 24-hour stop for all of the those things and if you didn't like to wait in the store for all those medications, you can go across the parking lot for groceries at the local Safeway (yes the map is a little off). Here, you can pick up cheap electronics, and some not-bad door crasher type sales. The cheap electronics are generally cheap in quality, not necessarily price.
Of course, the fine people at Safeway could tell you to go use their drug store, but as of this point I know that nationwide, I'm covered at Walgreens. At Safeway, I'm not sure if that's set up yet.
It wouldn't be fair if I was all upbeat about this place and give it only 3 stars. This place loses it's star at about one time of week. About 12pm - 9 pm Friday nights. It appears most of Kirkland gets sick about this time and requires presecription medicine. They do staff as best they can, but sometimes the drive up counter can get 4-5 cars deep at this time with 4-5 people at the check out stand in the pharmacy. Updating records when you get new insurance can be a pain as well when you have a family. Other than that? The wait times are pretty good ranging from 30mins-1 hour.
If you work nights like I do and are up at odd hours anyway, these two stores on each side of the parking lot, Safeway and Walgreens, are your fairly all-inclusive 24 hour Food & Drug stops in Kirkland.

Some great features include the organic food, Asian/Ethnic (yes I'm both, so no, I'm not meaning to slam you), Fresh Bakery, Video Store and Starbucks. Overall, the staff are pretty knowledgeable on finding various obscurities that I have tried to find myself and only rarely do they draw a complete blank on something that I can find later. The Asian/Ethnic section shouldn't be mistaken for the local Asian foods store as something like "candied ginger" seems to evaded this store during the Christmas season. Still, they do have the basics: rice, soy, various sauces from the Pacific Rim. The organic food section smells and feels as it should, though the variety in the Produce section does not match some of the offerings relatively close by at say a Top Foods in Woodinville. The Bakery is helpful and friendly and doesn't snicker too loudly when you chop up their fresh sourdough into stuffing-like slices. Finally, the Starbucks isn't quickest nor does it have the largest variety of pastries as a dedicated Starbucks does, but that may be in large part due to being in a supermarket. Perhaps the best feature of this 24-hour Safeway is that they are right across the street from a 24-hour Walgreens, so you can Prescription shop at two possible places that adjoin the same parking lot.
This is a pretty good Safeway, only outclassed by the one in Juanita, that *isn't* open 24 hours.

If you're in the Seattle area and have seen the ads about "not being treated like (X) because of (Y personal history)" then you can believe these ads.
My personal interaction with these people has been while purchasing and maintaining a 2003 Toyota Corolla during the 2005 calendar year. My wife and I had a poor credit history, but were never treated poorly nor did I ever feel like that credit history was a cause to be treated unfairly. I haggled to a limited extent as to the interest rate and the payment, and though my monthly payment was $60 more than the current car that I had, I have had no complaints about my Toyota Certified used car. During our scheduled maintenance, both my wife and I are treated with respect and the loaner cars provided (very important to 3 child, one car household) are always available. The work is done right and is done when they say it will be done.
My friends are important to me and I do not use the term lightly. I will be giving a positive review to them about Toyota of Kirkland.
