For a small health food store and cafe, there is wide selection of vitamins, herbs, health foods (produce and packaged), books and beauty products. The staff is very helpful and can advise on the best products for whatever ails you or whatever purpose you are trying to achieve. While I've never eaten the deli-type foods, they looked fresh and appetizing. Wish it wasn't all the way across the valley from my folks!

Shame on the Moon has great food, attentive and fun waitstaff, and an elegant blue-lit bar. The dishes are exquisite. We are always so pleased with our choices at this restaurant. The waiters are ready with advice on what's best that evening or share a fun anecdote to make you feel at home. For a first visit, we got the royal good-bye when the maitre'd gave us a big hug on leaving! A really great place for an anniversary, date or any occasion!

Sherman's Deli & Bakery has great food, but not the lowest prices in town. I love their cabbage rolls, which aren't the easiest things to find. They make incredible sandwiches of every description, and your mouth waters as you stand by the deli display. This place is usually filled with diners for brunch, lunch and dinner, but there is plenty of parking.

Love this Fisherman's Market & Grill (correct title) located in the Jensen's shopping area on the Washington/Hwy 111 corner. Watch out for the crowds on Friday and Saturday evening! But it's worth the wait. They do fresh fish well!! Terrific fish & chips, as well as everything from salmon and sole to shrimp and tilapia. We love the outdoor patio with its heaters for those cool evenings! And they have low-carb Michelob Ultra beer as well!

This rather expensive high-end grocery store meets the needs of the wealthier residents of this side of the Coachella Valley. A clean and well-designed store, it stocks a wide variety of specialty foods, wines, beautiful meats and seafood, and has a tasty bakery with fabulous pastries. They carry many international products you might be searching for to give you that taste of home. This is the place to find them or request that they be purchased. Friendly, helpful staff assist you at every turn, and they have customer service down to an art. Very high quality grovery store!

This Postal Connection, known as Welty's, is a great local facility providing U.S. postal services, UPS, Fedex, packing, faxing, copying, printing, and on and on. They have good service hours, and the self-serve copy machines come in so handy for this side of town. They even have greeting cards and some gift wrapping supplies. With loads of convenient strip mall parking, this is an easy choice for all those little details. Only thing I ever have issue with is the young counter staff rarely crack a smile! It is really noticeable, and I wish the owner would have a few customer service training sessions for this crew. Otherwise, though, this is good place.

It's In the Bag is a great travel store with a wide selection of luggage, bags, travel packing supplies, luggage tags, general travel gear and fun travel-related gifts. The small shop is full to the rafters, but the staff is really knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you find what you need and provide advice. The prices are a little bit higher than you might find online, but the advice is priceless.

R Cuts is located in the Albertsons shopping mall off Washington. The staff here are very friendly and do a good job. The prices are terrific...at $15 you get a manageable hairstyle that is easy to style. Virginia, especially, has been a favorite stylist of mine. It is often very easy to walk in, have a haircut and be on your way in a very short period of time. Great for those on-the-go desert dwellers!

Vitamin World is a great source for well-priced vitamins and basic Atkins products. With their special membership card, also, the monthly sale days really present good values with 30% off all products in store. I really like the location in the Westfield Shoppingtown mall, too, as it is so convenient. The staff are very knowledgeable and give great advice on products and their uses.

My family and I love this place! From the fabulous long wooden bar with mirrored backwall up to the ceiling, from the tropical fans lazily waving overhead, to the tropical decorations of each booth and the expansive dining room, this place is exceptional. Then there's the food. Many dishes have a tropical/South Seas taste but the menu is extensive. People rave about their rib specials and, well, the drink concoctions!! Yumm! The choices can be overwhelming. They don't take reservations except for large parties, and even though an extremely popular place, we've never waited too long or minded very much as we tried out a new drink. Wonderful place to take family, friends, dates or business contacts!
