There used to be a Hofs Hut in Brea, but not anymore...so sad too. Because this place is awesome. They have the best food. SO now when we go to Long Beach, we make a point to stop here. I love Hofs...
There used to be a Hofs Hut in Brea, but not anymore...so sad too. Because this place is awesome. They have the best food. SO now when we go to Long Beach, we make a point to stop here. I love Hofs not only because of their awesome food and service, but because they are family owned and they are making it work. I hope they can keep all their current locations open and keep fighting against all the big chain restaurants! Their prices are competitive with the chains, so eat here instead!

I love The Queen Mary. I know some might find the whole thing boring, but I love her history. I love walking around looking at pictures of people in the same spot I am standing, but over 70 years...
I love The Queen Mary. I know some might find the whole thing boring, but I love her history. I love walking around looking at pictures of people in the same spot I am standing, but over 70 years ago. This is the biggest luxury liner ever built and its just fun to walk through and see it all. You can stay the night if you like. And go into the supposed haunted sections...spooky!

While I much prefer Great Wall, Mad Wolf is good as well.They don't have as good as selection of vegetables, meats and toppings as Great Wall does, but they are open on Sundays, which is why I sometimes end up eating here. GW is not open Sundays and for some reason, I am always craving it on Sundays. Boo Hoo for me. Service is friendly. Prices are great...such a cheap lunch or dinner.

Mimo's is another great place to eat in Uptown Whittier. This part of Whittier has such a neat mixture of people...from students, to businessmen, from artists to homeless...you can find them all....

And so many of them hang around Mimos. Mimos has great food...delicious sandwiches, salads and yummy juice drinks. Most of their seating is outside, which is nice. Service is okay, nothing spectacular. Prices are good. Fun, relaxing place to eat.

But besides the wait, its worth it...this place is great. Many sandwiches to choose from on many breads. The hard part is deciding what you want. Once you get the hang of it, call your order in ahead of time!

Sometimes I forget about Islands. Just because its set off a bit from other shops and restaurants around here. But then I remember the delicious Cheddar fries.....oh man, are they ever good! Their fries are just...different...then they cover them with cheese and its awesome. And although their hamburgers are great, I always order a salad because they are terrific. Casual attire here. Friendly service and average prices.

I love any of their meals that include shrimp! So delicious. And their desserts...oh my dear! Try the Fudge Fudge Brownie! AAAHHH...now I am craving this place....service is pretty good. Prices are average, but worth every penny.

Deseret Industries is a great, big thrift store in Chula Vista. I love this thrift store, but only get to go about once a year, when we go on vacation. Yes, I go to thrift stores on vacation...never know what kind of treasures you will find! The employees here are really, unusually friendly. Not typical for thrift stores. They are usually pretty rude. But not here. And their prices are cheap. I love it! I always have good luck here finding a bunch of junk I really don't need! :)

Legoland really is a neat place to visit. The poor place gets hit hard with criticism. But it is what it is...what more can you expect than a bunch of legos? They did a great job though. All the rides are made of Legos, they have huge replicas made of legos...its a lego heaven. My son really enjoyed it when we took him. That was a few years ago and I heard that they added even more! I plan to take my other son when he gets older. During school time, its closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so keep that in mind.

I always feel weird reviewing attorneys, however there are a couple that I feel deserve to have the word spread about how great they are. Mrs Carfrae is one of them. I spent years in and out of court with my oldest sons father. The courts finally appointed my son his own attorney. Lucky for my son, Mrs Carfrae was assigned to him. Boy is she ever tough as nails! She is a tiny little thing, but size doesn't matter. She has a BIG reputation in the local courts...I cant even say what they call her. Has to do with having "Brass" you-know-whats. She is tough, but caring. She listened to my son and fought for him and he was finally removed from a bad situation. I can't say enough about her and I refer her to everyone I know!
