We sent my son to Lakers Basketball camp two summers ago. It takes place at UCSB and the kids get to stay in the dorms. Its a week long camp and my son loved it. A few of his friends went as well, so that made it even better. But I think the freedom of no parents, plus getting to spend every day focusing on basketball made this a memorable experience for him. Each day they were taught basketball fundamentals and skills. They even had occasions where some of the Lakers players came out and talked to them. Great time...the only part I didnt like was the dorms they stay in are sick and dirty. Not nice at all. Plus, its really pricey.

This museum is totally hands on. Forget the normal museums, where kids are expected to walk along with their hands behind their backs. At Bowers, kids will learn about many different cultures and their traditions. They can try on clothing from different countries, play with dolls and musical instruments and more. You can even have birthday parties here. Definitely something every kid should experience.

So, thankfully you dont have to wait for a party to experience the fun. Come here on Thursdays (call for specific hours) where they charge $7 per kid and they can wear themselves out for a couple hours.

You can get a few different types of animals here, but not a huge selection. (something I actually prefer) The employees are super friendly and helpful. Prices are average to high.

Located just outside of Knott's Berry Farm, Mrs. Knotts is probably one of the continually busy restaurants around here. And you should see holidays...oh my gosh. Thanksgiving, people order their entire feast from this place and they have the meal boxed, ready and waiting on tables outside of the restaurant. Its crazy. They are most famous for their chicken, but have a typical American food menu as well. 1.1 million people eat there annually.

I like short lines, so everyone wont be checking out your butt while you wait...ugh, nothing like a like self consciousness. Anyway, no this place doesnt have as good rides as RW, but with young kids, what do they know anyway???

I just took my kids here and they loved it. What an incredible place! Tons of sealife...things I had never seen or heard of, so it was fun for me too. They have a part where you can touch some sea creatures, which is great. This place is so well kept and educational. I hope everyone gets a chance to visit at least once!
