I have had the worst experience with Verizons DSL service. First off, I have had no internet connection since May 11. I have Vonage for my phone connection, so no DSL connection also means I have no telephone. For two weeks, I kept calling Verizon to figure out WHY my connection was gone. First they told me it was Vonages' fault. Then they told me it was a power outage. Then they told me they had no clue what was wrong and that someone would call me in 72 hours. Nobody called. Excuse after excuse. Nobody there could offer me an explanation. Also, every person I dealt with was in India, which was super frustrating. I couldn't understand half of what they said and vice versa. Finally last Friday I got a technical support supervisor on the phone (I had to call from my parents house) and after over an hour of offering different explanations, he discovered that when I had cancelled my Verizon phone account to change to Vonage, the employee there made a mistake and forgot to change my number to a "dry loop"...a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, BUT what that meant was that someone else was issued my telephone number in my city. Now, this guy has cancelled his phone account and so they also cancelled the DSL account with the same number, which was my account....BLAH. Totally confusing and makes no sense but thats the crap I am dealing with now and so because of their mistake, I have had no service, however, I am still paying a bill. I tried to reorder service Friday, but they automated call kept saying they were too busy and then of course, they were closed for the holiday weekend. Anyway, if I had any other option, other than cable, I would cancel my service with them. But I am stuck. They suck.

What a crappy experience! Last Sunday, I went to this new Target. The parking lot was PACKED, so I parked in front of Petsmart, which is right next door. I had two of my boys with me and we spent about an hour shopping around. We left with a cart full of stuff. So I walk out of Target and attempt to push the cart with my two boys and merchandise to my cart and as we pass the gardening section of Target, my carts wheels get stuck...or so I think. I pushed again and the cart wouldnt budge. I unload my boys, and try again. Nothing. I finally look down and see this tiny notice in the cart stating that the carts won't push past the Target store lot. There is some magnetic field around their lot (or something like that), that locks the carts when you attempt to push them past. So not only will my cart not go past that point, now it wouldnt move PERIOD. My two little ones are running around and I am there with a totally frozen cart. I had to go into the gardening section and ask what to do, while my cart of merchandise sits by the parking lot, unattended. The employees were so rude and unhelpful. I was not happy. I had too many bags to carry to the car by myself so I had to get an employee to stand by the cart while I walked the boys out to my car and drive back to where the cart was. The employee then stood there and watched while I walked back and forth from my cart to the car three different times...no offer to help whatsoever. As I was loading my car, and old woman walked out with her cart and had the same thing happen. I told her not to bother trying to push it, it was locked. This poor old lady then carried and large clay pot filled with flowers, plus a couple other bags, to her car. The employees stood at the garden cash register, watching us and whispering/laughing to each other. Then as I was about to get in the car, one yells out in a snotty tone "HAVE A NICE DAY." I was livid. If my two boys weren't in the car, I would have done more than just drive off, but I will surely NEVER shop at this Target ever again. They need to put up a sign at the stopping point for the carts, so that people know what the heck is going on!

Fancy Tan is a new tanning salon in Brea. Since its super close to my home, I decided to give it a try. Though I must say, I feel so awful when I go...I know how bad they are for you. So I try to go only when I am really needing a little color. Anyway, this salon is very nice. Super clean, as it should be since its new. But they have many many different types of beds. Not just the standard bed that so many salons have. Their payment plan starts at $18.88 a month and then they have a pay scale....well, lets just say its too confusing for me to explain here, but it works out to let you use the highest level beds for a very low price. They also have sunless tanning. The employees are very nice and helpful.

We made the mistake of hiring this family law attorney for issues with my stepchild. She is the epitome of what everybody thinks of lawyers. Without doing much of anything, she blew through $6000 of our money in less than a year, nothing has been resolved yet, and she wants another $6000 to finish these issues off. We are now resolving our issues without an attorney, needless to say. I am sorry that we wasted $6000 of our hard earned money on this big talker.

And I don't tan THAT frequently. I mean, I go enough to get my moneys worth out of my membership, but I am not there every day, nor multiple times a week. But I guess once you find a great place, you notice the shortcomings of others. I came here because my usual tanning salon was packed. This place is just across the street, so I ran in. First off, the two girls working there let me stand there for 5 minutes without acknowledging that I was even there. They didn't look up at me, didn't say a word to me. I wondered if I was invisible maybe? When they finally decided it was time to work, instead of chat, the girl who helped me was nice, I suppose. Anyway, the room that they put me in was abnormally small...barely enough room to turn around. The beds hinges were broken...though the employee assured me it was okay....the door wouldnt stay open, so when I tried to get out of the bed, the door was hitting me in the head. The floors there are gross. Bare concrete with paint intentionally splattered everywhere, like bad 80's art. Its obvious they do this to mask the fact that they don't clean the floors that often. Dust bunnies piled against the walls and behind the bed proved that. There was a dirty towel lodged between the tanning bed and the wall, mixed in with the dust bunnies and the multiple cords for the bed. Not safe looking. The bed took well over 10 minutes to fully heat up and the session itself was only 20 minutes, so I feel like I only got a 10 minute tan. The one nice thing I can say about the place...its decorated cute. Besides the floor. Do yourself a favor and run right across the street next time you want to tan. Much better experience.

I go here when visting my sisters...this is one of my favorite places. It always makes me want to run home and redo a room into vintage Hawaiiana. They have wonderful Hawaiian items, many vintage reproductions, but so cute. The prices are a bit high. But oh well, little stores like this, especially along the coast, are higher priced. Comes with the territory. Have fun shopping here!

The kids will love this place...filled with bouncy houses. They will jump until they cant jump anymore. But keeping those bouncy houses filled with air, means big "airblowers" that make big noise and drive the adults bonkers. Its so darned loud here and as mentioned previously, one has to wonder how safe it is. Especially when they hire non-interested teens. It wont be long before they have a lawsuit pending for some terrible accident, I am sure. Oh thats right, they have you sign waivers first...well then, no wonder they could care less. :(

Los Portales is a nice, Mexican food restaurant. They have fantastic food. This is a sit down restaurant and while you don't have to dress "fancy", you do want to look a bit nicer than if you were going to McDonalds. Los Portales can also host wedding receptions and big parties, so keep that in mind while you dine. If you are going to be entertaining large groups of people, impress them with Los Portales.

The service is fast and friendly and the prices are totally reasonable. This place is really unique and different than other restaurants. Casual dress of course. No fancy dining here!
