A great restaurant to visit on a date or even as a family. Edward's Cinema is right across the street, but you should read my review before venturing. The noise level is low for a Chili's place, so you can actually converse. The bar patrons and TV's are set to low. They offer take-out, which is always a plus on a workday. The portions are of generous size so you will have plenty of left-overs for the following day. They offer a broad menu and the food is delicious. Along with the atmosphere this is definitely a place to visit and you won’t go wrong. The service is A+ if even you are just getting it to-go.

A great restaurant to visit on a date or even as a family. The noise level is low (no TV's), so you can actually converse. They have an A rating and the salad bar is nice and fresh. They offer take-out, which is always a plus on a workday. The portions are of generous size so you will have plenty of left-overs for the following day. My husband had the steak with the all-you-can eat shrimps and he was happy with all the little shrimps (plus you can take your leftovers home). They offer a broad menu and the food is delicious. Along with the atmosphere this is definitely a place to visit and you won’t go wrong. The service is A+ if even you are just getting it to-go or the simple salad bar.

They offer a broad menu and the food is delicious. Along with the atmosphere this is definitely a place to visit and you won’t go wrong. The service is A+ if even you are just getting it to-go. They have a lovely salt water tank, so you can watch the fishies while you eat. They offer a great fried cheescake with caramel (yummy). The mexican food is fresh and tastes just like in baja, but with better food safety standards :)

I gave this place two opportunities and I will not be burned again. The first time my mother-in-law brought over some chow mein to go with Chicken Teryaki breasts I cooked. My mother-in-law and I were the only ones to eat it that evening, and we were ill within 2 hours. I never had something just hit me so hard. It took me a week to recover. This last time it had been over 2 years and again I became ill, not as bad as the first time, but YES sick enough. The food smells great, but I never see it busy (duh!!). Visually my only complain before I was sick was that the broccoli was not fresh (brown and wilty). The rice was a little dry (stayed away from the noodles this time). The egg roll was oil logged and the orange chicken was not crisp, the tempura was softer than I desire. Other than this the taste was just not there. Everything tasted quite bland and thank god the prices are not the best and the portions are small.

The waitress was nice. NOW the cook, they need one. The guy or gal does not know the difference between medium and well done. I think they must boil their steaks and then through them on the grill to give them marks. They also added a pesto sauce but it was so pickled with salt the waitress had to alert the cook after 4 complaints from guests. They also keep serving drunks even if they are loud and start verbal fights with other guests (god forbid they call the cops). The fries were cold and wrinkled. My wife had the riblets and they were burned. Dessert- we left and went some place else.

It is hard to find a real Mexican restaurant. Let's be honest Acapulco and El Toritto are far from traditional and flavor. If you want a Mom and Pops place that will treat you well, Try EL Merendero. They are located by the fairplex and their business speaks for itself. I have been eating there for over 20 years. Never felt ill like you do from other places and there portions are of good size and the prices are affordable. They will also adjust their plates to your taste. Some places hate to substitute, here they do it to make sure you leave happy. They also serve breakfast and the homemade papas are the best!!!
