The Admiral in W Seattle shows nearly first run movies and charges far less than most theaters. Not sure of their current pricing. It's a great place to see kid's movies too. We took our three year old to see The Incredibles and Shark Tale. The place is huge and the showtimes are flexible enough that we weren't bothering people with a chatty movie-goer. W Seattle is nothing if not kid-friendly. It's also a bit of a relic in W Seattle, neat architecture, cool old seats, feels like a real theater.

Not to be confused with the W Seattle Animal Hospital (about which I have heard not great things, but have no personal experience to back that up) . . . The W Seattle Vet Hospital is great. Have only seen Michael Keast, the medical director but I assume the rest of the vets are also good. They care about animals, the place is immaculate all the time and despite being busy with appointments never feels chaotic like some vet offices can with dogs and cats going at it. Separate entrances for dogs and cats, a nice touch.

Funky Jane's is a good consignment shop, very well-run with quality women's and kids clothing rotating in on a regular basis. Just try to get an appointment to consign some of your own gently used clothes there . . . you'll have to wait because it's popular. The kids' selection is not great but I have found a few things. I'm told, however that the girl's stuff is better stocked, it's always hard to find boy toddler clothes on consignment. Decent prices and have found some great deals for myself like good quality jeans ans sweaters (The Gap, Calvin Klein) and a great little black cocktail dress for a Christmas party.

This W Seattle B&J's is a great community gathering spot. Besides the ice cream, they just did free cone day (a big hit and we ran into lots of friends and neighbors) and do a weekly story-time on Tuesdays. Pre-school kids from 6:30-7 and school age from 7-7:30. Wear your PJ's and get a free topping. Just a nice place to enjoy the W Seattle friendly community.

We go to the Elliott Bay Pub often for a quick dinner, burgers, salads, and they are very kid friendly. My son loves it there, so far we have yet to have a waitperson get frustrated by a three year old who wants to order for himself, gets lots of milk refills and is very chatty. Decent food, great burgers, the prices are fine, not too high. We always get an Entertainment Book each year and there is always a coupon for 1/2 off a meal, so that helps. Recommended, although sometimes crowded at popular times.
