I'm not a fan of thrift stores but UNIQUE really struck a cord with me. Lots of clothes at really good prices. Their electronics selections aren't bad either and I vividly remember seeing a guitar there a few years ago for $25! $25 for a guitar! it was still good too! I always see a good selection of cameras, toys and games. I found vintage super 8s though they couldn't tell me if it was broken or not.
My favorite part was that they have a small selection of books in the back. 10 for $1. They're not any new books or bestsellers but its a great place to pick up a few novels here and there. That summer, I found/bought the entire Danielle Steel collection and it helped my aunt learn English.

Everyone always talks about how good Coldstone is and how its like the best ice cream they've ever had. Honestly, its not THAT good. Its just normal ice cream with toppings mashed in for you. A toddler could do it with a spoon. If you want, you can go to Baskin Robbins, buy the exact same ice cream and mix in your own candy bar. It would cost much less. Coldstone is like the Starbucks of ice cream- a little better than its competitors but charges an arm and a leg.

Navy Pier is the ideal tourist location but it is not so ideal when you live in Chicago. Personally, I find the entire place to be very overrated. Yes, there is a Ferris Wheel and a Merry Go Around but that means nothing to those of us who've already been on it and are no longer 5 years old. The stores inside are mediocre, the food is expensive. I must say that the crystal garden is very entertaining but even that gets old. In the winter, its freezing cold. In the summer, theres tons of people and giant flies that bite. Stay on the beach.

I worked at the museum shop and I've noticed that many people just come in tot eh museum shop, look at everything and avoid paying for admission. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING! There are so many works here to digest and its really best to just come here in small doses. Its a good place to wander around in and just relax but its a terrible place to take pictures and try to see EVERYTHING. You can't see EVERYTHING...theres way too much. But be sure to hit the modern art section sicne they have a huge selection of Dali.
The restaurant is also ultra romantic.

This place is run very efficiently. It is always busy so do expect a wait but everyone working there is knowledgeable and good at what they do so do expect to be in and out relatively quickly. They have almost brand-new equipment and are relatively clean and sanitary unlike this one review I read about Sears Dental. The only disadvantage is its location which is far on the south side.

I think the other 2 reviews are missing the big picture. Richwell Market is COMPREHENSIVE. Theres a bakery here as well as a "restaurant" and a chop shop. You can get fresh barbeque pork here as you do your shopping which is something you'll be really thankful for when you're bustling around the actual chinatown area going from store to store. The Bakery there sells Macau Egg Tarts. No, its not the same as normal egg tarts. It has a bigger and better filling and the crust is much thinner. Its a specific type of dessert only found in parts of Southern China and Macau and now, in Richwell. Check it out.

I love the whole area the army surplus store is located. Across the street is the Silver District and the Alley. Theres a starbucks on the corner and a bunch of boutiques down the block. If you walk a little further north, you'll hit House of Sushi and Noodles. The Belmont Army Surplus Store is just one of these little treasures. Theres a lot of cool army clothing and memorabilia to look at like gas masks that you won't find elsewhere. I don't know if anyone would actually BUY these gas masks since they appeared to have been used at some point and its not cheap. Still, its a nice place to browse and a nice area to check out!

Ragstock has a lot of cool clothes and its a good place to go to if you really do want to put something together really fast. However, it is really pricey for something someone else wore or something you want ot make a statement (and just 1 statement) with. Its supposedly a thrift store but it sells new clothes. I do like the new clothes but if you're looking for old ones, you should look at bonafide thrift stores that sell the same items for 50 cents or less.
I don't care much for the staff either. They kind of glare at people who don't fit the goth/hipster stereotype.

Supercuts was one of my favorite places to go in high school for a haircut because it was so convenient and not expensive at all. Its right off of the train station and you can always get a stylist relatively quickly. Their staff obviously do have a lot of experience and do a really good job within your budget. Theres really no fuss at all and everything is taken care of really efficiently.

For almost $30, I honestly expected something more than a quick trim. I was seriously surprised when they told me the price. This place is not trendy nor are there any of the usual amenities you would find at an upscale salon. Meaning, theres no water, lemonade or coffee and the decor is very drab. I mean, it obviously doesn't matter if you're just going there for a haircut but instead of feeling pampered, it makes you feel really ripped off at the end.
