This place is almost always packed with people. It's a Japanese Barbecue restaurant, where they bring you deliciously marinated meats and veggies to cook on a grill embedded on your table. It's very tasty, and they give some pretty good portions. Service is good too, as they will switch out a new grill for you if it looks like the current grill has been cooking awhile.
The wait for this place is too crazy to ignore, however, as you can end up waiting for an hour or more, due to the slow nature of the cooking and the relatively small size of the restaurant.

Their rice is the best I've ever had. Their sushi is good, but their other stuff like Tamagoyaki (egg), Salmon Toban Yaki, Rice balls, Black Cod etc are just so amazing! There fish is incredibly fresh too. If you get their dinner combo, it is a phenomenal price for top notch Japanese food. The ambience is great. fyi, their tuna is so fresh it tastes like toro (expensive fatty tuna). Can be a bit pricey depending on what you order.

Funky 60's theme restaurant in the middle of LAX near Terminal 6 parking. Fun place to take visitors - good food and a great view of the planes coming in for a landing, especially at night. Listen for the cool elevator music and the spooky sounds from the bar.
Now most people don't even know that the spidery looking building in the middle of LAX is a restaurant. It IS and after a rennovation in the mid 90's it is truly a great experience. Their food is good, but the environment is what you should go there for. They adopted as a motiff "cheezy 60's science fiction" so you get a futuristic and retro feel at the same time from the costumes of the waiters, to the sound effects at the bar, to the bongo laced space music in the elevator. All this in view of planes laning at LAX!

Boardwalk 11 has karaoke 7 nights a week. The crowd ranges in ability to professional singers to people who've never sang in public before (and for a good reason), but one thing everyone has in common is lack of pretension. Everyone is encouraged tosing and have a good time. The drinks are a _little_ on the pricey side, but overall A Very fun place to get some appetizers and drinks. The parking lot is small, but street parking is availabe. but the friendly staff and good vibe of the place more than make up for it.
This is a hidden gem.

Wonderful bakery with a huge selection of fine baked goods and sandwiches. I came across this bakery about a year ago and I haven't stopped going about 2 times a month since. They've got beautiful pastries and delightful bagels, my favorite the Cinnamon Bagel. Quality breads, they'll slice for you and for the simple palet, chocolate chip cookies. Oh yes, I forgot they have cheese and apple danishes and scones too. This is a wonderful facility.

The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes, appetizers and soups (the corn chowder is to die for) with a Mexican flair. Everything is prepared in a light tasteful way. The atmosphere is casual - feels like a resort on the beach. Try the lightly fried fish or shrimp with fries. Informal, family oriented. The food is satisfactory. So what are you waiting for???

i read the review from here and I agree you might pass the building up its that hidden, and also agree it is all outside sitting, better when its warmer. Consistently excellent food every time for a very reasonable price. All their ingredients are fresh and it makes a big difference. The music is a little annoying at times (volume) and the tvs can be distracting. Remeber this is a patio dining restaurant, so if second hand smoke turns you off - don't go, although I can usually find a table away from the smoking. The pita wraps are a great deal and the salads are huge. And the garlic spread is to die for!!!!
Sometimes service is slow but its all good

Maybe Versailles is overrated, I don't know. But I have always enjoyed their food immensely, everything I've had from sandwiches to soups were outstanding. For those that never eat these types of more exotic foods, its like going on a flavor journey through unchartered lands. Many items are priced under $10 which is a very good value. The quality of the ingredients is good, but the uniquely Cuban flavor is what keeps me going back.
Try the roasted garlic chicken plate; it's delicious. If you like Cuban food, I think you'll be pleased. And if you haven't tried Cuban food, you should.

Their pieces of fish are to die for, especially the yellowtail, albacore, and toro. Not too heavy on rolls, but a MUST is the fried calamari roll. Very small and intimate and chef Katsu is fabulous....

If you are less into the Sushi and more into rolls, somewhere like Yamakasa is more your speed, but please check this joint out. it's my favorite in all of the west side...!

Bamboo offers Caribbean food in a casual but elegant atmosphere. The menu offers Californian variations on Caribbean dishes and goes well with the light and refreshing sangria available in fruit-filled pitchers. On nice days or evenings, the patio is also open for outdoor dining, making for an enjoyable experience. I dont belive that reservations are needed we didnt need them but It was during the week not weekend
