Charlie and the gang at A&G Auto are very honest and helpful car mechanics. They won't charge for unneccesary repairs, and have shown me how to fix things on my own! They are great at basic repairs, but their scope is limited. They aren't able to deal with tires or alignments at their location, but have been helpful for all of the other auto problems . Can schedule an appointment or just show up.
Pros: trustworthy, quick service
Cons: don't deal with all aspects of car repair (ie - tires, alignments)

This is a good and cheap car wash in the valley. I stopped by there one day b/c I was driving by and noticed it. It's usually pretty busy, but it's very cost efficient. The service there is friendly and the car wash is good. I would recommend them if you're looking for a nice hand washed car wash. I believe they also do engine steam cleans too if you're looking for that as well.

This car wash offers a mix of hand and automatic washing through its assembly line. If you pay a little extra, you get a pretty good detailing job for the price. Take advantage of the discount days when you can get your car cleaned for cheaper. It may not look all fancy on the outside, but on the inside, you get a dependable car wash.
The staff are very nice and friendly and seem professional.

The place is extremely casual and very Venice. If you want to get an immediate feel for this part of town, Abbot's is a great place to check out. It's not pretentious at all, and even during business hours is not populated by business types (but of course it's not, this is Venice).
Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but not enough to stop me from visiting.

Amazing homemade salsa
This restaurant has been around for years and has the best salsa I have ever had. We even buy a container to take home with us. The potato tacos are great and my husband loves the chimicangas and carnitas tacos. There is a bar and a patio in the back for large parties.
Never had a bad meal. The waitstaff is very polite, and their margaritas rock! Definitely my favorite Mexicanrestaurant in LA, and I've tried lots. There's nothing aesthetically amazing about this place, but it's darling in it's own way - almost like a Spanish grotto... you have to see it for yourself.

Great thai food here. A little pricey, but this isnt one of those hole-in-the-wall thai takeout spots. The chicken noodles is one of my favorite dishes--it's flavorful, steaming hot, and the chicken is tender. The other specialty dishes are usually great as well. This place used to have commercials of seductive asian women saying, "come to Chan dara!" between shots of their food dishes. Always cracks me up every time I think about it. In any case, they are known to have quite a few of these kinds of women as waitresses here...if you care about that kind of thing.
The menu is great, with fresh specials, but the food is a bit toned down for the general public palate. The spicy sauces were barely so, but each dish was cooked perfectly.

This is one of my favs. I'm not much of a pasta eater, I go for their chicken and fish entrees. The flavor is always excellent and I love the amount of veges they serve with their entrees. So many restaurants give you a potato and think thats a healthy vege, they serve a variety here. Prices are reasonable for the quality.
If your timing is right you can even get their "Power Meal" for $5.00 but this is takeout only. It includes salad, pasta, bread.
The restaurant can get noisy. Seating is best against the wall. Otherwise you may have to squeeze by other diners.
Waitstaff varies. Parking is on the street or in the back, or underneath.
Overall I recommend this restaurant for their excellent Italian food.

I simply love dining here the food is delicious and the staff is terrific. They have a large selection of dishes on the menu and I've have yet to be dissatisfied. I highly recommend the orange chicken, and there cheese sticks are one of my favorite appetizers. The portions are enough to have a meal the next day and the dessert is simply delicious. Great Family restaurant, business dinners lunch or a date. Almost forgot the Cheescake is superb. If you can, get a table on the outdoor patio, which overlooks the water in part of the Marina.

The Apple Pan has been around forever, and so have the employees that work there, most of them look like they are in their 60's and 70's. Always a challenge to get a seat at lunch or dinner time, the Apple Pan is worth the wait for their Hickory Burger! Fresh off the grill, these guys know how to make a burger. Part of the charm is that it is small, tough to find a seat, and only accepts cash. The only seats are in a square shaped bar surrounding the grill. It doesn't have to pretend to be a relic of the 1950's like Jonny Rockets; it is a relic and totally authentic. It is open until Midnight and there is usually a line. The fries are made in pure lard, so if you don't like to eat Pig derivatives, than you think twice about chomping into the thick, golden brown fries. If I am anywhere in West LA, I would never go anywhere else for a burger, even if I have to eat it in my car parked in a metered space on Pico Boulevard. Plus The pie is great.
