I would say that Aardvark Books has a not terribly huge selection of used books but I do find something good every now and then. I like the fact that I can call the store and ask them to see if they have a particular book for me and hold it. They are usually very nice at that and I don't need to drive there just to check the stock myself

I like going to Acorn Books and not pay $15 for a new book because I can often find a used book in a great condition there. Beats going online and pay for shipping when ordering books at half.com I have purchased the following books there: DeVinci code, 11 minutes, etc. Love this store!

Living in the Peninsula, you don't have a large choice of small neighborhood cgrocery stores. Quality Market is one of the only ones in our area and I love shopping there for everyday items such as milk and bread. I usually go to larger stores for week-wroth of shopping but I do like Quality Market.

However, I am not fond of the store personelle - not terribly friendly and the selection is not that great. I guess what can you expect from a neighborhood store?

The trend to sell and buy organic is rapidly growing in San Francisco and Divisadero Farmers Market does offer a nice variety of healthy organic and healthy food. I go there often to pick something up for my kids as I can find a pretty good selection of healthy vegetables there. I don't buy much for me there because it gets pretty pricey!

You will most likely spend not more then a $1 on items that you need - and you can buy a whole lot of different things there, such as teas, kitchen accessories and etc. I always leave with large bags and still don't go broke - highly recomend this store to anyone looking for bargains
