I recently discovered a fun little store called Foster's that I think you'll fancy. Located in old city Philly, the store offers all kinds of fun things for your home and office and lots of great gift ideas. I love their furnishings from Josh Owen and their cooking classes are a lot of fun! Foster's also has a terrific online site that you may want to check out at: http://www.shopfosters.com/ where you can also shop online if you're not in the Philly area.
Shop Foster's - it's fun!

Sometimes I really surprise myself with how lavish I can lean when it comes to interior design. On one side, I completely adore hardwood floors, exposed brick, clean lines, and open spaces. Then, polar opposite of that, I love floor-to-ceiling windows with vintage bubble glass, chandeliers, french doors opening to a wrought-iron patio, with a bedroom of black, white, tiffany blue, and mirrored furnishings on a dark walnut floor. Do you battle with loving both of these looks equally, too? I guess a lot of us do, since "vintage modern" is all the rage.
Inside Avenue is a great design haven for vintage modern lovers to select luxury and modern home furnishings and accessories. They're located in beautiful Agoura Hills, California, which is about 20 minutes north of LA, with a stunning showroom and a great website for shopping from home. Some of their items are a bit on the expensive side, but then again, in a society where people consider $800 handbags and $200 pairs of jeans to be the norm, maybe you won't bat a pretty little eyelash.
Visit them in Agoura Hills, California or online at http://www.insideavenue.com/

TVs that look like iMacs in glossy white. Some that are faux wood, as in super modern birch. Others themed for kids. Some slick and stylish for that fab pad of yours. Hanspree has a cool store in Fremont CA and a great website http://www.hannspree-usa.com that I highly suggest checking out if you're tired of hiding your current ugly boxy TV.
I simply can't get enough of the HANNSspree line of electronics. Hard to believe that I said "can't get enough" and "electronics" in the same sentence. My husband would be so proud. These cuties look like a new breed of Macs or something; I did a double take when I first spotted one. HANNSpree has dozens of styles to fit the mood of you room, including TVs for kids, remote contols, and speaker systems. Finally, a TV that doesn't need to hide in a monster size cabinet, concealed by doors, unattractive and alone.
I love the HANNSwood 10" LCD TV with it's wood and floral pattern and little ears.
You have to check it out....

I just love the art of Margaret Keane with her wide eyes beauties from babies to babes. This mesmerizing gallery of paintings is located across the street from Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco at 3040 Larkin Street (across from the Ghirardelli ice cream parlor). Most paintings are well into the thousands, but the gallery is worth a peek given how famous she is and how beautiful the art looks in person vs. online. The colors are vivid, her stroke is genius, the works are lovely. You can purchase reproduction prints and small repro paintings for a good price in the gallery, which is what I did - I brought back 2 repro paintings with me on my last vacation there in July 2001. You can learn more and the artist and her gallery online at: http://www.margaretkeane.com/

alphabétique, located in Chicago's Lincoln Park, was created in 2000 as an idea studio meant to inspire and add beauty; a place of "ah" for those obsessed with paper products (like me). Since many paper designers started to print their designs onto pillows, wall hangings, and ceramics, alphabétique soon started carrying items for the home. They carry Neisha Crosland's wallcoverings and silk pillows, items from Designers Guild, Pancake + Franks cards, Hable Construction's pillows and tote bags, and Lotta Jansdotter's wall hangings, ceramics and textiles. Their retail space offers an extensive array of products, so the next time you're in the windy city, allow the breeze to carry you over to all that is beautiful in alphabétique.
Now I know my alphabétique, this time won't you shop with me...

With 4 retail locations in LA, NYC, Chicago and San Francisco, Flight 001 is soaring to new heights taking shoppers on a bit of a journey towards what's chic in stylish travel.
If you're an international man of mystery, or woman, you'll want to check out Flight 001. Maybe some people aren't concerned about how they look when they travel, but I actually plan my outfit days in advance and make sure everything I wear coordinates with my carry-on bag and luggage. I know, a bit over the top, but it's just how I roll.
If you're a tad bit OCD when it comes to looking chic as your plane lifts you off to exciting destinations (your parents house in Nebraska counts too), then check out these nifty products and see if any of them would improve your overall cuteness. Flight 001 carries everything from passport holders to laundry sets by Tocca and tech gadgets, in flight goodies, luggage, and everything else needed to make that 9 hour flight a little bit sweeter. Sorry, they don't carry chairs with more leg room, and muzzles for those brats sitting in front of you, but with plenty of vodka and an iPod, you'll get through it.
"Our final passenger just boarded the plane and girllll look at that - the cutest passport we ever did see. (two snaps up and a twist) Passengers, now we are ready for lift-off, baby. Mmm hmmm"
Located in San Francisco at 525 Hayes Street or online at http://www.flight001.com/

La Perla hugs your curves perfectly, but where do you go when you want lacy lingerie for your shapeless floor? Dress it up with a Kuba rug from Liora Manne.
Nestled in trendy SoHo at 91 Grand between Mercer and Green in NYC, Liora Manne's store is a must-see if you're in the city. I love her lighting collection, funky bold placemats, lumina resin trays, and montique platters because they remind me of patterns and styles used in Germany - bright and bold. From her rug collection, my favorite is Kuba, a crisp green, laser cut rug that looks like a giant doily - it really pops! The lacy design is lingerie for your floor, oh-la-la!
To learn more about the production process for Liora Manne's patented medium for creating rugs + pillows, you can visit her website at http://www.lioramanne.com. With a detailed explanation and lots of photos, it's quite impressive, Most items can be ordered on her website, however to order a rug or lighting, please contact Ms. Manne directly.
Happy shopping!
