Denver Academy holds itself out as a school for kids with learning differences, but lacks fundamental therapies needed to help the child that is struggling with ADD, Asperbergers, ADHD, or whatever. Services such as speech therapy. In fact one of the founders of DA was forced out because she believed the school should've offered so much more, but they do not. Behavior has been a big issue primarily in the primary school 1st through 6th grade. The staff doesn't get it and behavior has been a constant distraction in the class. Bottomline, DA's behavior standards are amorphous and it has a significant impact on the quality of the education and kid's ability to focus and learn. Our child has been at DA 4 years. The tuition next year is going to be nearly $25,000! They keep telling us they do things so well, but we just don't see it. It is very disappointing and the options are limited. The administration at DA is not receptive to parents. They are dangerously progressive and quite arrogant. Our biggest concern is how can our child be mainstreamed? DA is a self-fulfilling prophecy... For DA. The kids are compromised and behavior is horrible.
