I've attempted to get enlargements from both digital and negatives through the mail via several places and the quality just ain't there. I have learned the hard way that its best to just take it to someone that actually looks at the end result and ensures it was done correctly.
These guys are equipped to do some complex stuff. Its not cheap by any means but at least it will get done correctly the first time.
I highly recommend Ivey Imaging.
They have yet to fail me.

Okay enough about P1.. Cost Plus has great furniture, pottery, candles, food items/wine/coffee/tea, art, and other imported home decor. Above all.. It would be a great place to find a gift for someone.
This particular location is a bit chaotic due to its location near the market but I still like it the best as its so spacious inside.
If you like this kind of thing you should check them out.

A cute kids bookstore with both new and used selections. Alphabet soup seems to focus on classics but has many newer books ranging from preschool to preteen appeal books.
It is very causal and comfy yet fairly small... I would feel completely comfortable letting my rug-rat loose to browse.
My only complaint (and its a small one) is that the prices seem a little higher than I'd expected. However with such a small independent and specialized place I believe its justified.

While I've not dealt with any other stained glass workers previously I have used these guys several times for some small projects.
Located on 45th in Wallingford (across from Dicks)..
All of my small project's outcome have been far from cheap but Ive never had regrets and they are nice and work quickly.
They have some pretty amazing glass. Stuff that I didn't even think possible. They have a shop there that I'm pretty sure would take on just about any project you are willing to pay for.
They do also teach classes there regularly.

Okay so I decided to see what all the hype was about and took my daughters to Cupcake Royale in Ballard a couple of weeks ago.

Okay so I decided to see what all the hype was about and took my daughters to Cupcake Royale in Ballard a couple of weeks ago.
When I got there I was delighted to find a parking spot right in front. I wont make excuses but I didnt pay the meter thinking I would be in and out in less than 5 minutes. Well.. I was in and out in 5 minutes as planned.. only to find a $39 parking ticket attached to my windsheild! I could not believe it.. They must have been hiding in the bushes!!!
With that said the cupcakes were a hit with the girls (and my wallet). They are ready to go back.
Just be weary of the parking situation as that whole street is paid parking.

In the past 10 years I have been involved in 2 accidents in my car whereas I have needed to go seek out estimates for insurance reasons.
This business seems to have not changed a bit through the years with its quality control and its reasonable rates as on both instances I found the estimates to be way under other places and the end result I couldnt have been happier with.
I highly recommend Oaklake Auto.

My 2 girls have been going here for the past year and love it. The school, founded by Steve Smith has been around for "I think" 15 years and its sort of a makeshift "School of Rock".
While its environment is what some might say casual.. that is an understatement :)
The teachers are great and the fact that a lot of talent surrounds the business is obvious. Death Cab for Cuties drummer used to teach here... not too long ago.
The business doubles as both a studio and a rehearsal space so they frequently have all ages shows where the artists can display their talents.
The name is a little misleading as while the do specialize in drum lessons they also offer training in many other instruments and offer summer programs/camps for kids.

They offer truly unique options that look nice aesthetically but the downfall is they items are pretty disposable. They just don't last and are easily broken.
The worst gamble is that there has been more than one time that I have bought something and ended up discovering I was missing pieces or messed up the assembly badly.
The one item I'm intrigued myself about are their kitchen makeovers. They do look pretty amazing and I have heard that they are incredibly affordable. I would like to know if anyone has had regrets going that route... (?)

Visited this little gem on my last visit and fell in love with their fresh coffee.
What is SO cool about KCC is that they have a coffee club whereas they will send you bags of fresh coffee to your home each month.
I signed a couple of family members up for this over the holidays and they loved it.
This is a very small operation and they have a large variety to choose from.
I highly recommend trying veering off the Starbucks path and trying some fresh plantation coffee from Kauai!

I was skeptical at first but thought Id give it a whirl as I get horrible standard car reception in West Seattle.
After I purchased my car kit last year I was up and running in probably 20 minutes. No professional install required. I believe this is the case with most car kits.
While there is benefit to installing directly into your car stereo via wires, its certainly not necessary as all current models will broadcast from the receiver to an empty fm channel (of your choosing).
I now never loose reception. Im even able to retain my signal in the majority of the Seattle tunnels and overpasses and LOVE it.
There is such a huge variety to choose from and the price per month of 12.95 is definitely worth it.
There is something for EVERYONE.
Satellite radio joins TIVO as one of the gadgets I cannot live without. It was a small investment with a huge payout.
