We used to hit up this Applebee's once a week or so because they have the carside to go. Had the number in my speed dial and would order and stop by on the way home from work. The food is pretty typical Applebees, but we were always left waiting once we got to the drive-up. It's just annoying, because then the food is always cold. Don't know why they don't have the system figured out, but we're waiting a while to go back.

This is a coffee shop and more. Pretty impressive in size and selection. I'm one of the few people who doesn't drink coffee (gasp!), so for me they have a ton of teas available. There are a lot of students from WashU med school who get together here. It's a great stop because you can get coffee (obviously), but also some pretty good food. Plus, in the summer you can sit outside on the patio. Fun place.

The king and I is one of the best thai resturants I've been to, and I was so surprized to find it in St. Louis. I lived in the San Fransisco Bay Area for 10 years and had some pretty good Thai food, but The King and I rivals any that I'd had before. I've had good luck with everything I've tried and everyone we bring here loves their dishes. It gets crowded but never over-crowded. The upstairs tables are fun because you sit in the floor. Hard to explain, but fun. I highly reccomend.

We head to Tom's a couple times a month for lunch, and I've always been quite pleased with the food quality. Typical pub fare, of burgers and, but they're all above average. I do have to say that it gets quite crowded at lunch and the waitresses always seem sort of flustered, although we've never had them give us an order incorrectly. You end up sitting so close to the groups next to you it's hard to feel at all private, and there is a lot of smoking there, so I feel like they're always smoking in my food. But that's really the only negative.

I've only been here once, and it was just okay. I think I'd go back for the popular brunch, or when it's warm enough to sit outside. I did go there for lunch this winter and got the special (a wrap sandwhich with fries). It was okay, but I was SO glad I had asked for the dressing on the side because my friend (who had also asked for hers on the side) had a sandwhich with dressing and it was totally doused. I didn't think that the food was any better than say, applebees, but the atmosphere was nice. AND they allowed us to all have separate checks, which I thought was above and beyond nice.

This is a great place to go for happy hour. We had a big group that went there and took total advantage of the great deals on drinks and appetizers for happy hour. The food was fine. Nothing to write home about, but totally okay for the prices. The only thing is, you can't get the happy hour prices if you're sitting on the patio. The great patio is one of the big reasons to go, so it's unfortunate you can't get the best of both worlds. Either way, I'd highly reccomend. Although it gets quite busy even on week nights, in the summer, so it may be tough to find a parking spot.

I love Qudoba. The burritos are just fantastic. Much better than most that you'd get in St. Louis with nice spices on the meat. They're huge and even I (who can much down burritos with the best of them) can only eat half of one. They also serve beer, if you're inclined. They don't have waiters, it's more like Bread Co. where you go up, order, and get your order in a minute and then seat yourself. I

It's got a better feel to it than Starbucks, or the like because it's just somehow warmer.I didn't actually eat, but hung out with a bunch of people who did and the soup looked amazing! It's a fun place to get a cup of coffee, although I felt a little bit old being surrounded by all of the WashU undergrads. Note: they really enforce the meters around there (I was warned a lot by people who had been there many times), so feed your meter!

I've been here a couple times and plan on heading there for St. Patty's day this year (although I may be crazy to do so). The food is fun and typical of Irish fare. There aren't that many people working there (I think I got waited on by the manager), so you may have to wait a bit for the food, but it's worth it because it's fun to just hang out in the fun atmosphere and have a pint.

And Chevy's has a great burrito. The margarita's are great too! Go for happy hour. Although I did ask for a lemon drop one time and they brought me this really weird martini like thing, but maybe that was just a new bartender that day. The food here is great and some good mexican for St. Louis. Plus the portions are great so you'll have food to take home. We're kind of regulars here because they often have coupons in the entertainment book or elsewhere.
