Good food, although a little run down. Great Pad Thai. Had a birthday gathering for a friend here, and did not even have to reserve. We just walked right in with 20 people, and they were totally accomodating and great about it. They even brought out the cake for us which we brought from home, lit the candles, and sang happy birthday. The wooden oriental dividers in the back are pretty.

I could not believe how filthy this place was and how many people were still eating there. Plus, the music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think!

The atmosphere at this local joint is pretty good, friendly staff, pretty clean and calm. Unless you go when the middle school kids are let out of school. I prefer the coffee and tea market (family owned) down the block though, in terms of service and quality.

I have an immense sweet tooth, but these are a little too much after a while. But heavenly!

When my feet were killing me in my black pumps after an interview, I dropped by Bakers and luckily found a pair of white flat mocassins for only $10! And my sister loved them so much, she went and bought herself a pair.

I go here a lot to get waxings and pedicures. It smells really strong and nauseating inside because there is poor ventilation. But the workers are immaculate with their work and the prices are decent. A select few of the women are great at eyebrow waxing and treat it like an art. Even the most shapeless and bushy eyebrows are transformed into beautiful arcs!

And what really got on my last nerve was that we ordered the "samba 7" sushi platter, expecting a 7 piece sushi platter, but got 3 tiny sushi rolls. When we asked the waitress why, she answered, "Oh it's called that because we're located on 7th avenue". What BS! The decor and music is cheesy too.

I don't like the seating though, and especially during lunchtime, this place is way too crowded. I just buy my food and take it out. They should really start a delivery service!

If you're not used to Southeast Asian food, you should maybe try something more fusion before eating here. Because this is real, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. I am used to Indian food, and I even found this food different, but great.
