I know all the "proper shoe" people aren't going to agree, but I don't think Stride Rite is worth the prices. Well, if your child doesn't have arch issues or anything, that is. My children don't, and they do fine in less expensive shoes. I found the Stride Rites to be stiff, and they hated wearing them. Not to mention that it sucks a lot more when your kids scuff up a $40 pair of tennis shoes the day after you get them, then it does when it's a $10 pair.
The store itself is nice, the salespeople are pushy though. I do like their sandals but that's about it!

We have two children attending Sher Khan Karate Academy. The instructors are amazing. They can easily go from teaching the young "Tiger Cubs" to teaching green belts and adjust their teaching style accordingly. They seem very committed to making sure that the students understand everything and are available to help students one on one if needed.
They also seem to do quite a bit for the community, including raising money each year for Saint Jude's Children's Hospital. They also have numerous events for the students during the year.
I really can't recommend them enough. It's an excellent school with wonderful instructors and staff.

While Sephora has a larger selection of higher end cosmetics and perfumes than Ulta, their customer service isn't as good. I've found the sales clerks to be less friendly, less approachable and less friendly. I also think they run far fewer sales and promotions.
All in all I do prefer Ulta to Sephora though, and rarely go to Sephora any more. The one time I had to return something there, I was treated rudely and that doesn't encourage me to shop there at all.

This is a great find for anyone who likes to make scrapbooks. I am a beginner myself, and have found the staff to be very helpful, and the selection of items very good. Prices are average, location is good and there is plenty of parking as it's in the Bel Air shopping center.

I think Sac's of Fruitridge is one of the better secondhand stores out there, especially considering the location! You can get great deals, and it's fairly easy to navigate. It doesn't seem to be as overpriced as a lot of the other ones are these days. They have good deals on housewares as well. Parking is decent.

We can't make a trip to Old Sacramento without a stop at Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory. I think the prices are their fudge are kind of steep, around $10 a pound. But I have no problem paying $3 for one chocolate dipped strawberry because they are SO good. The staff is friendly and it's a fun place to shop, even if it's not so friendly for the waistline.

This is a great little secondhand childrens clothing shop. They have a nicer selection of clothing than Once Upon a Child, and the prices are comparable. The staff is friendly and the location is nice. Parking is pretty good, but it can be difficult to get in and out of there, as it is with most places in old town Elk Grove.
