Disappointing sushi

We had heard that Zanmai was a popular sushi spot and decided to give it a try. After tasting our first few pieces of sushi, we wished we had chosen a different dining destination. Several pieces of sushi had a decidedly fishy taste and nothing that we ate tasted particularly fresh. Our waiter seemed like a college kid waiting tables for the first time. We left much of our order at the table and were left completely perplexed as to why there appeared to be a fair number of regulars at the restaurant. With Sushi Tora nearby, I couldn't see any reason to go here.
