Went to Brasa last night with a couple of friends to try out the 25 for $25 promotion and was blown away by the meal that we had. Only a few items on the menu were excluded from the promotion so we felt like we had ample choice. We shared Mussels, a tomato-orange soup and some excellent Tuna Carpaccio to start. This was followed by Wild Mushroom Risotto, Paella and an insanely good beef tenderloin. It was tender, medium-rare perfection. The highlight of the dessert course was a frozen lemon mousse served with mint garnish.
As part of this promotion, the meal was a steal.

PS: The steak at Brasa is some of the best I've ever had...tremendous.

Eastlake Teriyaki has great food, the lady behind the counter is always smiling and always on the ball. The best part of the experience is watching the daytime soap operas while you wait for your meal. This was a world of TV viewing I never knew existed. Scary.
My favorites food-wise are the Yakisoba and the Pho. The Chicken Curry is also great from time to time. I'm there at least weekly, so vote with my feet on this one.
Enjoy.

So, this seems like an oxymoron, but I went there to visit some friends who had just had a baby and the place was packed with families with young kids. The parents were enjoying great food and beer and the place was bright, clean and well lit with toys and books for kids of all ages all over the place.
I'm not sure of their policy on private parties, but since most 3 year olds will be attending with their parents, this would be a fun setting.
Worth a fly-by if you haven't been.
Cheers,
Rahul

SMBG is a great gym. It's spacious, the staff is friendly and I've never had to wait for machines. I tend not to be a class-taker so I can't comment on that, but I like the openness and the feel of the place. The towel charge is a little annoying, but minor compared to the rest of what you can get.
The weight room downstairs is well equipped and has multiple stations for each body type which means, once again, that waiting is minimized.
Parking is easy and its near the PCC for yummy eats after workouts or people watching at the Fremont Market on Sundays.

I went there on a Tuesday night after Happy Hour at Brasa's (which is also excellent btw) and was pleasantly surprised to find a cool, chill lounge. As you walk in, there are leather benches on the left hand side and a bar on the right. The liquor selection is expansive. The bar is focused on creating period cocktails so drinks like the Mint Julep, the East India Cocktail and the Evil Banana will be found on the menu. (Some of you may know all of these, I had only heard of the first.)
It's an elegant upscale lounge that's great to take a date to after a meal out. The cocktails aren't cheap but they are substantial.

Randomly ended up here on Sunday night to watch the football game. It's primarily a restaurant, a little on the upscale side, but there's a great bar, two HDTV screens and Pilsner Urquel on tap. I was there with a couple of friends and we ordered the nachos which were spectacular. If you're wimpy about spicy food, then avoid the stuffed jalapenos, but if not, those are top-notch as well. Lots of pretty people at the bar and the staff were a blast too. All in all, a great spot. I'll definitely be going back.

Since I began walking to work recently, I discovered Espresso Splendido and stopped in for a latte. Chris, the owner and barista is fantastic. I remember while getting my first cup, I was completely mesmerized watching him work - a true expert - cleaning, pouring, tamping, steaming all at once, no wasted energy whatsoever. Very impressive to watch and the resulting cup of coffee was spectacular as well. If you're in the area, stop by, say hello and get your morning fix.
