The Lab, or 'Anti-mall', is a shopping plaza with all kinds of stores. It is a place for young edgy artsy people to shop, dine, get hair cuts, trade clothes, and hang out. At the Lab, you will find Urban Outfitters...one of the biggest I've ever seen. The salespeople are absolutely nice. There is also a Buffalo Exchange, where you can trade your clothes for new ones or money. There are two restaurants at the Lab: Gypsy Den-which is more of a hang out- and Habana, a modern Cuban diner. There are places to sit and chat with friends at the Lab because there are nice comfy sofas almost everywhere. Remember, the Lab is an outdoor place and does not have too many stores because it's anti-mall.

Native Foods is a vegan/vegetarian diner with a variety of different foods from all over the world. The one that is closest to me is in Costa Mesa, at The Camp. It is nestled in between Active and a yoga studio. You will see a round tin colored building, and that is Native Foods. My first time there, I ordered the Chicken Ranch Burger to go. The food got to me very quicky, and came in a cardboard recyclable box. Inside was my burger with tasty seasoned fries. Hungry now? The chicken, of course, is not real chicken. It is made out of seitan and tofu. I am not much of a meat-eater so I can't say that it tasted like chicken, but it was absolutely delicious. Native Foods also offers miso soup, sushi, jambalaya's, salad, sandwiches, chips, ect...all 100% natural and cruelty-free!

John Paul Hair Desjgn, located at the Albertson's UCI plaza, is a chic hair salon. I loved my haircut---by Bobby--after leaving. I had a coupon for a $30 haircut that I received in the mail. My new hairstyle was definitely worth the $37. Without the coupon, haircuts would range from $45-$80, but I would still pay that price for a haircut at John Paul. The hairdressers at this salon all have great backgrounds and training. Some previously worked for big celeb-loved L.A. salons. John Paul also offers eyebrow waxing, which I hear is very excellent.

The Anthropologie at Irvine Spectrum (recently opened) is a bit bigger than the one at Fashion Island. One thing I like about this one is that it carries a few past season items that you cannot buy anymore. Another thing that is this store is more spacey and not as crowded as the one in Fashion Island. The prices are just about the same, but you'll see different items on sale.

Mother's Market is a small yet amazing market. If you love organic foods, vegan cookies, cruelty-free beauty products, vegetarian/vegan meat, Mother's Market is for you. Not only is the customer service wonderful, but the stock they offer is excellent. The people there are very helpful and know the right vegetarian beef or the best vegan lip balm. The manager is also very nice. However, don't expect the prices to be so low. Remember that organic goods and vegan beauty products may be a bit pricier than your local average supermarket. Why are they higher? Because of the great quality organic and vegan goods offer. I love Mother's Market. Right when I stop in, I always feel happiness and excitement.

Arte de Boutique is a trendy clothing and accessories store at Irvine Spectrum. Though it is not your average boutique. It sells designer jeans such as Blue Cult, True Religion, Hudson, and Antik Denim. Mixed in witht the designer jeans are Seven and Blue2 jeans; these are not at all designer jeans, which this store claim they are. So watch out for those (Seven does NOT equal to 7 for all Mankind!!). In addition to the DESIGNER jeans are cheap frilly tanks. This is what makes it not your average boutique. These tanks and tops are things you can find at Forever 21 and cheap teeny-boppy stores. The salespeople are a bit rude, but that was only one. Overall, the only things I would purchase at this store would be their designer jeans.

Quattro Cafe is located at South Coast Plaza, nestled in between Giorgio Armani and Jimmy Choo. This cafe is small yet simple. It gives an intimate atmosphere, so it is a great place for a first date. Quattro offers Italian cuisines. It is also a nice stop for dessert. If you're at South Coast with a friend or two, share a dessert, such as the Chocolate Suffle. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth the taste.

Everyone sushi restaurant claims to offer the "best sushi in Irvine." Yet, there is only one place that has the best and freshest sushi. Sushi Riki, on Irvine Blvd at the Northwood Plaza, definitely has the best sushi. Each sushi entree is prepared with passion and care, The Rainbow Sushi and Philly sushi's are very delicious and fresh. You will notice a different taste! The prices are moderate, and everything penny is worth it. The customer service is excellent, even when the restaurant is very busy. If you want the TRUE best sushi in Irvine, stop by Sushi Riki.

Rebel, a little boutique at Fashion Island, sells a variety of girly clothes and accessories. Hence the name of the store, be a rebel to be girly. You can find Paper Denim & Cloth, Michael Star tees, Juicy Couture suits, Lulu Guiness handbags, Rebel Yell, and C&C. A few times a year, Rebel will have sales on items from the past seasons. Though, the prices are pretty good, a few of the items are damaged or look worn. In addition, the salespeople are a bit snotty and helpful. Other than that, Rebel is a great place to be a REBEL!

Loehmann's, located at the Irvine side of the Tustin Marketplace, offers a variety of designer brands at very low prices. They have a vast collection of Juicy Couture, BCBG, FCUK, PaperDenim&Cloth, Sacred Blue, Joie, and much more! However, the customer service is not that great. Only maybe one or two are helpful; the others seem like they do not care. Another con about Loehmann's is that they (Long Beach location) have been sued for selling counterfeit Marc Jacobs, Tahari, Ralph Lauren, and other brands being sold in the "back room." So be careful when purchasing a big designer item!!
