I barely went to Spectrum before the new construction and store openings. Back in middle school my friends and I would only go to see a movie, and the only stores I shopped at there were Urban Outfitters and Windsor. Now, there are a million store openings. When I visited there a few months ago when they just opened a lot of new store, I--surprisingly--got lost!! The place is HUGE and like everyone said, very CROWDED. I sort of miss the time when it was not as crowded. Now there's a Target, Old Navy, Nordstrom, and many little shops that sell just about the same clothes. The Nordstrom there is very small compared to the one at South Coast, but the Target is pretty big. The only things I'm bother by at Spectrum now are the crowds and that it's just too big now.

I used to go here a lot with my mom when I was younger. The shop is set up very nicely and organized, and they have a great selection of books for kids. However, while I was there with my mom, the salespeople were super nice to us. I just went back there a couple months ago, now all 'grown up'. I went there to pick up a job application, actually. I also browsed around a bit. Both the salespeople --the owner and saleswoman--kept their eye on me. They glared at me as if I were going to steal something. Sheesh! I was about to pick up an application until I remember my friend told me that she went there a few weeks before to ask for an application with her mom. They said they refuse hire minors because they claim teenagers don't work, which is not true in ALL cases.

Although Taiko doesn't have a long list of sushi variety, they have a good list of entrees. I've always wondered why this restaurant was so packed all the time, even at 5 PM to an hour before closing time. Then I realized is because their food is very fresh and has a lot of flavor. The food comes in a big amount as well. Their salmon teriyaki is the best I have ever had, and came in the biggest amount I have ever received. A++++ for this restaurant.

If you're a Vegan/Vegetarian or are just interesting in trying out cruelty-free food, come to Wheel of LIfe. This little Thai restaurant is located on Culver between Ralph's and Sav-on. The 2 owners, [Dr.] Victor and Kim, are very welcoming and will chat with every customer. Not only is the service 5 STAR, but the food is certainly delicious!! Everything in this restaurant is cruelty-free, absolutely no dairy products. Victor has stated that "there are no dead animals in my restaurant. And I won't allow it!"
You will find your regular Thai cuisine here--but all vegetarian. Try the Chicken Pad Thai and Orange Chicken. For dessert, get the Mango with Sticky Rice.

LF is a unique boutique in the artsy district of Laguna Beach. LF offers cozy thermal tees, embellished exotic linen skirts, distressed hoodies, and much more. I would say that if you shopped here at LF, you would not see someone down the street wearing the exact same thing. This store is fairly expensive, but they have GREAT sales! They are currently having a 60% off everything in the store sale!! So say you find this unique distressed hoodie for $168, it would come down to about $68! You'll find brands here you've never heard of, such as Emily & Sam and Furst jeans. A very one-of-a-kind boutique!

SAY NO TO PET SHOPS, especially Russo's @ Fashion Island.
Whenever I visit Russo's, I notice that their puppies' eyes are always pure shot red. They are SAD and lonely. Their eyes say it. Hmm gee I wonder why they're so stressed all the time. Well, it's because they came from puppy mills.
Note: Russo's at Fashion Island closed a few years back because of some lawsuit!!
9/10 dogs sold at pet stores were born in puppy mills. Say, what is a puppy mill? A puppy mill is a huge breeding place for dogs. These dogs have been kept in TINY cages with other puppies. They are confined to these cages for until they are "shipped" to a pet store. These dogs often come with diseases and after bought, get very ill. A friend of mine bought a beautiful German Shepherd from this same exact store, a few months ago. This puppy was healthy at first, then something was eating his leg. My friend spent over $5000 for this dog's surgery and medical bills. After a few weeks, he died :(
If you're looking for a new pet, PLEASE please adopt!!! There are thousands, perhaps even million, of pets who are stuck in city pounds & animal shelters, waiting for a nice family. If they are not adopted within a certain # of days, they are euthanized. So go to www.petfinder.org to save a dog or cat's life.

I love this place! I have a penchant for foreign goods, esp shoes and cloths. Miss India Fashions sells affordable shoes, including flats and sandals; linen pants; silk scarves; silk/cotton Indian blouses + pants; linen skirts; jewelry; and they also offer threading services. A great thing here is that you can BARGAIN!! Woo hoo :0) I have gotten cute Indian Khussa flats for only $25...no tax!!! The people working there are all family to the owner, and they are each very helpful and kind.

Waters, right on the Woodbridge Lake, is a nice restaurant with excellent food. Because of its location, Waters may seem like one of those 5-star dining overpriced restaurants, but it really isn't. The prices are moderate and worth every penny. I have ordered the Seafood Jambalya, which I actually have ordered a couple times...one of my favorites! Their service is wonderful, and the food is pretty quick. I recommend the Chocolate Souffle for dessert!
I suggest to bring a warm jacket if you choose to sit outside b/c it is pretty chilly by the lake!

I have not actually attended a wedding reception there, but I have gone there. It is a huge place, very artsy. 7-degrees is an entertainment center that has held various kinds of events from business cocktail parties, fashion shows, and art exhibitions. The place is edgy and designed very well. It has a unique feel to it. The atmosphere is great. I suggest you to visit their website http://www.seven-degrees.com/ or visiting the place yourself. It truly is a great place for all kinds of entertainment, even for wedding receptions. But it all depends on you...

I got my hair done at Regis Salon for a special event last weekend. I made my appointment a few hours in advance, and they had a couple spots open, but definitely convienient. Regis Salon at the Mission Viejo mall is very neat and tidy and pretty spacious. I just got my hair blow dried and curled, particulary spiral waves. The lady who did my hair did an excellent job! Though, the price ($45), is a bit pricey for the amount of time spent. I expected the blow-dry + finish to be much less b/c haircuts at Regis are only $30. Oh well, my hair looked fantastic :)
