At the last moment, in September, I had to schedule a place for a wedding reception for my daughter in October. Luckily this was the off season and I had a few places in the Eugene area to choose from. The prices and options differed dramatically, but the DAC was the least expensive and most accomodating of all the venues.
The staff was extremely helpful even to aiding us in decorating the tables and providing extra touches (more vases, color coordinated linens, extra flowers, a cover for the beer keg). The catering was great though I forgot to order an appetizer so there was a lag time with no food which made the food line long and the food cooler than it should have been.
The evening went off well. Everyone was cooperative and professional. As the parents of the bride we were relatively stress-free by the end of the evening because of the efforts of the DAC staff. And parking was free!

This is by far the best sushi south of Eugene and north of Sacramento. I lived in Japan for 4 years and this is the real deal. They do tone down the selection on the rotating sushi bar (ambiance) to include the most popular types, but the menu has more selections. We go at least twice a month just for sushi and occasionally we will have other items from the menu like teriyaki salmon, oyako domburi, miso, etc.... The staff is friendly and accommodating --- same people for the last 15 years though their original location was in Ashland. They even have sushi to go. Great place to take visitors and order a sushi boat (or chirashi order) just for the fun of it with some Momogawa saki.

This wonderful family-style cheese factory sits in an industrial area between Medford and Central Point on the old highway. It is a gem of a find for all gourmet cheese lovers. Many types of cheese are organic, the processes are labor intensive, the milk antibiotic free, and the taste is European. They are award winning cheeses such as the Oregonzola or Crater lake Blue, Chipotle Cheddar and countless others. Great place to have a gift box put together of selected cheeses and crackers, or a cheese wheel, or half wheel. For locals it is a wonderful place to buy direct (as well as in grocery stores locally), and take advantage of cheese curds, end pieces (for a tremendous discount), and fresh cheese that rivals Pulgra. Great for holiday gifts to those outside of Southern Oregon, or for party cheeses to delight your guests with the best.

These people provide basket lunches for the musicians at the Britt Festival. They make their own sandwich bread and huge sandwiches. Usually a half sandwich is more than enough for me. The soups are also fantastic and they give lots of freshly made bread and butter with each bowl. The price just a bit more than a Subway or Quiznos and can't be compared in terms of quality. They also cater business lunches if they have the time. They are very much in demand in Medford.
The location is difficult --- downstairs from the Osprey Pub on Main Street. The restaurant is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination --- it's strictly about the food with Deli Down. However, the walls are covered with 8 x 10 autographed glossies of all the Britt stars who have had Deli Down lunches --- and there are a lot of them.

If you are encouraged to try a Mediterranean diet by your doctor try Pilaf restaurant in downtown Ashland by the Plaza. If you are not encouraged to try this type of diet but just love hummus and pita and falafel and curries, this is the place. The decor is great --- brightly colored and with many seating options; outside on the Calle Guanajuato, inside next to the fireplace, or in a cozy nook. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients and specials.
The food is excellent. You can visit the Greek isles or Lebanon or Tunisia and get a great meal for a medium price. It is not what I would call authentic, but it is good and healthy at the same time!

I have never had anything close to a bad meal at Habaneros. In our family there is one vegetarian, and Habaneros offers beans without meat base and other great entrées. The food is always fresh and presented nicely. The margarita selection is fantastic enough for our 20-somethings to be happy with. A great venue for a birthday or celebration because of its brightly colored ambiance and party atmosphere. Also wonderful in the summer to sit outside on the patio under the trees, away from lots of traffic.
I give it 5 stars.
