Because if he could, I would eat at the Prolific Oven every day. Not only do they offer an impressive array of cakes but they sell pastries as well. Prices used to be more reasonable but have increased in the last few years. They also offer sndwiches at lunch and a full coffee car. The hot chocolate is TO DIE FOR!

My 19 month old son is a handful. He can run around the Junior Museum and have a ball without getting himself in trouble. The zoo is small but perfect for a quick trip. The exhibits are geared towards older kids but younger children will enjoy them as well. Rinconada park is adjacent and has a nice toddler play area.

Stanford Shopping Center used to have some unique stores. Now they have the same stuff as Hillsdale and Valley Fair. They've driven out a lot of the more reasonable places and gone way high end. Did you know they used to have a Woolworth's where Banana Republic is now? Food choices are limited as the mall does not have a food court. They are opening a new CPK Express soon though. It's a shame that they got rid of Fresh Choice, it was one of the few toddler friendly places.

JJ&F is a great little family owned market. The deli is fabulous and does party trays. The meat is fresh and wonderful, though I do miss the old butcher counter. Produce is great and there is always someone available to answer questions. I know the prices are a little higher but the service and selection are so much better than the big chain stores.

Mom mom took me to Chef Chu's when I was a baby and it was a hole in the wall. Larry Chu has managed to grow him business into a wonderful, well known restaurant. The menu has just about everything. House speciality is the Chinese Chicken Salad, with just enough hot mustard for a slight bite to it. The pot stickers are the best I've ever had. Chef Chu's also has rooms for private banquets.

Our dogs have been going to Adobe for 10 years and the staff never fails to impress me. The front desk staff is cheerful and always fawns over pets when they come in. Every single doctor has been compassionate, caring and kind (as well as knowledgable about their profession!). Adobe is open 24 hours for emergencies, we've needed to use that a few times and we've been very pleased with the service. There is also a pharmacy onsite. I recommend Adobe without hesitation.

Oregano's is a great little place that may get overlooked because of its location. They offer a nice menu of wood fired pizzas, fresh pastas, and sandwiches (at lunch). The pizzas are good but I prefer to pasta (the one with sundried tomatoes and brocolli is rich and wonderful). They also serve homemade bread that is great. Great for families.

Dean is a great guy. He made my wedding band when I couldn't find something to match my engagement setting. 10 years later he still remembers me and offer to polish my ring when I come in. He's able to make anything you could desire. He's also very trustworthy for repairs and to me, you can't put a price on that. I've been going to Dean for over 15 years and the service as always been fabulous. Dean's is a great addition to downtown Los Altos.

Fiesta del Mar is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. The ingredients are all fresh and everything is delicious. This restaurant is known for seafood but the beef and chicken dshes are fabulous as well. My favorite is the simple grilled chicken burrito. The is an astounding selection or margaritas, probably over 100 to choose from. The waiters will suggest something if the selection overwhelms you.

There are some great children's consignment store in the South Bay, this is not one of them. The House of Forgotten treasures is more like the House of Cheesy Castoffs. I'll admit that I mostly buy high end clothes for my son, but I am not above buying from Target and Mervyns. This store is full of no name brands and lots of them. There is almost no Gap or Gymboree. I've never seen any Ralph Lauren or Janie & Jack. It is mostly Carter's, Circo and Walmart brands. They should be pickier about the quality of their clothes, most of the stuff was really worn.
