This restaurant is located in a small shopping mall, and is easy to miss. The food is very good, though some prices seem a bit high. Particularly enjoyable are the fresh rolls served with all meals and some of the house specialty salads. The lunch menu is not very large, but includes several special and some very tasty options. The atmosphere is simple and somewhat nondescript. Service is generally good, though not always very quick.

Gianno's offers a variety of Italian dishes and pizzas in an up-scale casual environment. A lunch buffet is available every weekday, as is a special lunch menu. The dinner menu is extensive, and there is a good selection of wines as well. There is a children's menu available, but this really is not a kid's place. The food is very good, though service can be a bit uneven.

This is an oil change, basic service, state inspection business. Service is very quick, often within 20 minutes, and there is little attempt to sell extras like wiperblades. The waiting area is clean, with seating and a television, and a window so you can watch the work on your car. There is a frequent buyer program; with a punch card, you can get every seventh oil change free, and there is no hassle when redeeming this.

A pizza buffet, Cici's offers a variety of pizzas, pasta, and desserts. The pizza is good, but not great, but it is all you can eat. The dessert options are tasty. This restaurant tends to be quite loud, given that there are lots of kids, a large screen television, and a staff that yells to welcome/thank patrons. Don't try to have a quiet conversation. The price is very reasonable. There is also a small arcade in the back. Restrooms are very small and cramped.

The PEC is free and open to the public during daylight hours. There is a center with a few animals and reptiles on display, information about the flora and fauna of the area, and a giant outdoor map of North Carolina. There are also occasional events, such as a wildflower sale and a Halloween trail walk. A professional naturalist is generally available to answer questions or handle pre-arranged kid's activities, like scout hikes or school field trips. However, the real jewel of the PEC is the walking trails through a variety of terrains. Even though the PEC is not far from the center of town, these trails feel like the middle of the forest, and can be hiked or run in anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours. Leashed dogs are also allowed, so this is a great place to take Fido to get some outside exercise.

The only dedicated Pilates studio in High Point, it is located in the attic of a restored historic home. Individual and 2- or 3-person private sessions are available, using Pilates equipment. Larger mat classes are also available several times during the week. All equipment is provided, and instruction is very good. The owner is certified in Pilates, and teaches excellent and enjoyable classes. She is also good about describing movement modifications for people with less flexibility or physical constraints like a bad back. Private sessions are a bit on the expensive side, but mat classes are very reasonably priced and can be purchased in blocks. Given that the studio only does Pilates, you do not have to compete with other classes or gym members for attention or equipment. If you have difficulty climbing stairs, this may not be the place for you, as there is no elevator.

Showing second-run movies, this family-run theater currently charges $2.00 admission. The theaters are fairly old and showing their age, though still a good value for the money. Concessions include soda, popcorn, and candy, with prices being a bit power than other theaters. Both theaters have old-style seating (no stadium seating), so view can be an issue if someone sits in front of you.

This theater recently switched to second-run movies for an admission price of $2.00. As a second-run cinema, this is pretty nice, though not particularly new. There is no stadium seating, but the sound system is good, and staff does a pretty good job of keeping the auditoriums clean. Concessions are limited and about as expensive as first-run theaters. While the staff is polite, they are not overly friendly.

Located in Oak Hollow Mall, Regal Cinemas offers first-run movies. There is one theater with stadium seating, though all theaters have great sound systems. The theaters are kept clean. Concession options are limited to the usual popcorn, soda, and candy, with prices being comparable to other theaters (meaning expensive). However, the theater is located right off the mall food court, so it is easy to grab a quick, less-expensive bite before or after the show. On Friday and Saturday nights, the theater is mobbed by teenagers, so this may not be the best time to take small children. There is a Regal Club card, and patrons can earn free tickets and concessions with repeated visits.
