The Tomato Head offers food you can't get anywhere else. Where else can people at the same table eat roast beef sandwiches and vegan salads? The pizza is amazing and I agree that the sundried tomato and pesto is the best. The salads are always cold and fresh and I can never get enough of the Tahini dressing. I love the outdoor seating area. The indoor art gallery is always entertaining while you are waiting on your food. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you MUST eat here!

The Sunspot has to be one of my all time favorite places to eat. It was a great lunch hangout while in college and now a great date night place with my husband. He's a carnivore, I'm a veggie. This is one of the few places we can go together and both be happy. The food has a very distinct taste and flavor and it always fresh. The hummus is amazing and a must have for every table. A few years ago they expanded and made the bar area larger to add additional seating. A plus in my book because the wait can sometimes be a bit long on the weekends.

Wok Hay is a nice new addition to Knoxville. I like the variety of choices. You can get any meal with shrimp, chicken, beef, veggies, etc. The portions are large enough to share. And the Lettuce Wraps are amazing. The food is made after you order and promptly delivered to your table. I agree that the food is very similar to PF Changs. But the experience is better in my opinion because it is cheaper and there is no long wait for a table. The only drawback is they really don't offer much for children. We have to take food for our toddler when we eat there.

Charlie Pepper's is always a great experience. I'm a vegetarian and my husband is not. There are lots of choice for both of us and a great and cheap Kid's Menu. Their blue plate lunch specials are awesome! Cheap, fast and good! My husband recommends the Rooster Cogburn. I love the Navajo Nachos made with vegetarian chili. The one on Cumberland Avenue does have more of a "bar" feel to it. I wouldn't take my young child there on the weekends.
