I injured my foot training for the Knoxville Half Marathon. I manged to run the race, but did even more damage. A trip to Dr. Parsons was needed. I felt very well cared for and was glad his office was so thourough with my exam. He thought it was probably just an over use injury, but he did a complete work up just to be sure. He then sent me for a month of physical therapy at a group he recommended (not his own group) and after a month, I was good as new! Definately recommend him to anyone.

First I have to say how sad it is that the Stefano's out west closed down. It used to be a regular haunt for us. Stefano's pizza is so good because it is different. The thick, whole wheat crust is unlike any other pizza crust I have had. I'm one of those people who doesn't really eat the pizza crust, but at Stefano's, I sure do. The Stefano's on the strip is a blast before and after football games. A pitcher of beer and a large pizza and the big screen! What more could you need?

When Gondolier opened there was so much talk about how good it was and how you just had to go. So go we did! We packed up the family and headed down there. My daughter and I ordered the spinach pizza and my husband had lasagna of some sort. Our pizza arrived and it was so sad looking. It was a cheese pizza with like four tiny pieces of wilted spinach thrown on it as an after thought. The lasagna looked a bit better, but my husband said it wasn't all that great. And the service was woefully slow. We haven't been back.

If you haven't been to Big Ed's, you haven't had pizza in East Tennessee. It's easily worth the drive from Knoxville. I'm not sure what it is about this pizza that makes it so delicious. We're boring and always get plain cheese and it's the best pizza! Everything tastes so fresh and nothing seems to have come from a can. I love the family atmosphere, too. It makes you feel like you are almost family. I agree, that if you go on a weekend, go early. The wait can get pretty long. But it's worth it!

My mother in law purchased a dress and a matching hat for my daughter at Lid'l Dolly's. I wasn't very impressed with the dress and I was shocked to see how much she paid for it. In my opinion the dress was poorly made and looked a bit "cheap." To be fair, it isn't my style at all, but for what she paid, she deserved something nicer. The dress and hat have never been worn and are still hanging in the closet. She did tell me how wonderful and sweet the employees were and how helpful they were in helping her guess her granddaughters size. When she had to exchange for another size, they were more than helpful.

I could go on and on about the excellent customer service I have received at Gap Kids! The staff seem actually eager to help you and to make things easier for you. They are also ready to help you find an item and will quickly call the online store if they do not have the item. They have also called other stores looking for things I just had to have. We especially love their pajamas and jeans. The jeans fit my skinny child better than any other jeans she's ever had. With such nice people, we'll be back again and again!

I've been shopping Baby Bundles for years. I have to say that I love the wide variety of things they have. From personalized CDs to very nice outfits, you can really get anything. If I'm stuck on a baby gift, I can find it at Baby Bundles. And I love that they have really nice items for babies. Sometimes things are made so cheaply in other stores. But I have found that the staff isn't overly helpful. Sometimes I am totally ignored. I'm not a big spender by their standards, so I guess I'm not worth the effort. But I'll still shop there. They have the best hairbow selection in town!

El Charro has been around almost as long as I have. It's been a staple on Bearden Hill for years and years. They have a new, larger location so less waiting for a table. But the wait is worth it. The chips and salsa are one of my favorites. I could make a meal off of them. My husband loves all the combo choices. Lots of variety offered. The food always arrives quickly and is fresh and hot and made to order. My only complaint is that they don't have a vegetarian "menu" like many restaurants do. You kind of have to pick and choose and make your own meal. You can't realy order a combo. But the cheese and bean nachos make up for that fact!

When I worked downtown, the Soup Kitchen was a staple on my lunch list. I love the extremely wide variety of soups you can get each day. Of course I was never brave and never strayed away from the vegetable soup. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you visit, be sure to get some bread to go with it. My favorite is the cheese bread, but the mexican cornbread is also popular. And don't forget about dessert! You'll see a case full of yummy desserts and they are all worth a try. Some are even better than the soup. On a cool day, you can't beat a bowl of hot soup to warm the soul!

Back before Mama and Papa Savelli split, Savelli's was THE place to get Italian food in my book. The atmosphere was quaint, the family business was heartwarming and the food was just plain GREAT. I didn't like that you had to bring your own bottle if you wanted wine and pay a corking fee, but that was my only complaint. After the split we have only eaten there once and it was just sad. My spinach lasagna arrived looking a little old and to my shock was actually still frozen in the middle. Apparently they didn't microwave it long enough after they took it out of the freezer! I was shocked and saddened. We've moved on to other local Italian restaurants since then.
