This was the first Mexican restaurant in LA that made an impression on me. Dark red leather booths with tiled awnings overhead. Dark and fabulous. It's a great place for a date. Definitely calls for a margarita- they'll literally on fire in the evenings. Live Mariachi bands on the weekends, expect to wait a while at the bar, which is a bit small (the restaurant is where its at). They serve the standard tasty Mexican fare, nothing too inventive. I recommend the Mole!
Parking in rear if you're lucky.

Although often crowded, they mix a mean martini and serve delicious appetizers. Dinner is wonderful as well, but I'd make reservations. Their martini menu is quite extensive. I can't wait until my next happy hour there. It's an eclectic mix of people, nothing too intimidating.
Parking on the streets in limited, so I'd suggest using their valet service.
