i've only been knitting for about a year but have had the chance to visit many knitting shops, and tricoter was a decent enough experience.
i was helped instantly even though there was a class in session *and* a lot of people just sitting and knitting. and when i asked one of the staff for help on how to do a certain stitch, they were very happy to show me.
some of the yarns there are incredible! and very expensive ($60/per and up). but these were really special yarns.
most of the 'regular' skeins there were nice, they have a great selection, but their prices were higher than what i've seen in other local shops. plus they are a bit out of the way for just about anyone who doesn't live in madison park.
so not a bad experience but for me, it's probably not worth it to travel that far for the yarns

i live close enough to hilltop to walk there, yet i won't go there unless i'm having a 'knitting emergency'. they have the same yarn as places like 'so much yarn' but they are more expensive, AND their staff is, well, not the most helpful. to tell the truth, i've been in there (twice now) the staff has bordered on surly. it's too bad - they have true potential with their location and space. hopefully they'll pick things up a bit, otherwise i have no interest in returning or sending anyone there.

i stumbled into So Much Yarn because i could not tear my eyes away from the beautiful pieces they had hanging in the window, and i continue to go back on an all-too-regular basis! they have beautiful and well-priced yarns, all of the supplies you'll ever need, and, most important, a helpful and courteous staff who are great teachers. my personal favorite teacher is logan, but they are all terrific and what they do.
they have classes, private lessons and group lessons and whenever you take a lesson you get a 10% discount on anything you purchase that day.
this place will be the end of me, and i love it!

moxie is very new - just opened up mid-december. i usually stay away from new places and give them time to work out the kinks, but i felt like being adventurous. i'm glad i did - they don't seem to have any kinks.
the food is delicious! and they stand by their name and motto 'moxie - food with nerve' by serving dishes like blue cheese flan and goat cheese mac & cheese. they have a full bar with a good bartender, and the waitstaff that we encountered was terrific.
looking forward to going back there again, but this time i'll leave room for one of their insane desserts

fool me once...
i've gone to the bellevue jean juarez 3 times, and i chose that one for a combo of the services they offer and easy parking. i will never again step foot in that particular spa.
the first time i went there i got a facial. i left the spa feeling like i had a quart of motor oil on my face and my eyes stung for 2 days. it was brutal. i called and they suggested that i buy some ponds eye healing patch thingies, then after the runaround they sent me a coupon for a free facial to make up for it. so a few weeks later, back i go...
THIS time the woman spent as much time trying to sell me their products as she did giving me the facial! gee, thanks, that's really relaxing.
tried it one more time for the 'hand and foot revitalizer' - and i left with clear polish covering the tips of every finger and not feeling relaxed at all. the woman who took care of me this time had a cold so a) she was sniffling the entire time, and b) i was tense because i didn't want to catch her cold. she kept telling me it was allergies, but i didn't buy it for a second.
the managers there are rude and unprofessional, and as i said, i'm not going back there.

i've been to ten mercer twice, and both times i came away with the same feeling -- eh. the food is ok, nothing special. the appetizers are ok, and only one app (the cheese simosas) are better than average. the service is weird - we had a waitress who was great, but the lady who brought us our meals looked like she'd just gotten in a fight w/her boyfriend - very angry look on her face, very bitchy attitude. she plopped the meals in front of us without trying to figure out who they belonged to, and my vegetarian hubby was not too excited to look down at a plate full of pork.
the pork was undercooked and only warm. the side that came with it was lacking taste.
they make a really good drink there, so if you want to have a fun bar night then it's a good place to go. but unless they make some major changes in their chef/menu, i wouldn't go back.

i LOVE uptown china, and i'm a new yorker who used to live a few blocks from chinatown and little italy. i had amazing chinese food at my disposal 24/7, and the only place in seattle that comes close to serving good chinese is uptown china. (ok, the international district has great places too but i don't know about those).
their food is very nicely prepared and served, and will get to your table quickly. and it's just good food. fresh, cooked well, great spices, etc.
they have a great lunch menu - several dished plus rice plus egg roll for approx $6.
finally - they have parking! a small but adequate lot is located behind the restaurant.
enjoy.

finally, the store itself is amazing! when you first walk in, there's a newborn and two's/three's section on your right. from there everything is categorized by activity/toy type - music, art, trucks & cars, books, costumes, sports, etc. they have an incredible selection and ttt carries the cool toys that you can't ever find anywhere else. if you are a fan of the 'baby einstein' videos, you'll really appreciate top ten toys since they seem to carry all of the toys that are shown on the videos.

this is one of those places that i am thankful for discovering on a daily basis. it's great! it's a very large consignment shop, completely dedicated to baby/kids stuff and some maternity items. they have shoes, clothing, strollers, beds, carry packs, toys, cribs, etc. clothing is broken out into sizes and gender, and everything is a great price! they don't take everything that's dropped off so the quality is nice too. i've found some true bargains there, and my boys love to play with the things i got. and if they don't then hey, i probably only paid a few dollars for it so no big deal.
parking is usually available out front, and if not there's a lot on the side - about a 1-minute walk away.

castle is a HUGE sex/party store. it's a warehouse with a giant section of porn videos, lots of exotic clothing, body lotions, adult games, books, novelty items, and one entire wall devoted to, um, electronic devices, mostly oblong-shaped :-)
it's a fun and funny place, brightly lit, does not feel seedy, and the perfect place to visit if you are heading to a bachelorette party, etc.
have fun!
