met some relatives today for breakfast in issaquah. i'll start by saying that if i'm meeting someone for breakfast, it's usually either more of a brunch or it's a lat breakfast or it's closer to home, or some combo of the above. an 8:30 breakfast on the east side on memorial day was not something to put me in my happy place, so i was a bit bitter about the schlep. any iota of unhappy feeling left my body the second we walked into the restaurant. it's pleasing to the eye. it's got that down-home feeling without feeling like a reject from a laura ashley makeover attempt. the service is wonderfully friendly, the menu extensive, and the food - the food! oh my, i thought i was going to lick my plate. how could a simple cheddar and bacon scramble taste SO good? i don't know how but it sure did. the home fries were big chunks of potatoes with a nice set of seasonings on top, the most prevelant being rosemary. even the toast was yummy. i can't imagine anyone not being happy with their meal at julia's. more
