After my friend recommended me this place - and reading all the comments on the site - I decided to try this resturant - and I enjoyed every second. The place very warm - very nice and welcoming. The food was very interesting (it was the first time that we tried indian food) we loved the food most of all because the spices that they are using there. The avocado salad was amazing and also the rozmarine bread - the chicken was good - it seems a bit small - but it was just fine. I'm recommending this place.

This Gramercy Park treasure is one of the most exciting restaurants I have tried in recent memory. The staff will do their best to help you pair the right wine with your meal - if you are not a connoisseur, don't be intimidated - they are very helpful. Be warned, however, that a lot of the wines are VERY pricy, so do not be shy about saying how much you are willing to spend if you ask them to pick the wine for you. The food is just superb - my smoked salmon appetizer was heavenly; my cod entree perfectly prepared; my dining companion's venison (I never thought I would ever taste venison!) was a revelation, cooked rare with a delicious pepper coating; and dessert is an appropriately rich and satisfying conclusion. All in all, a real gem of a restaurant with lots of class and little pretention.

Coffee Shop is so over-hyped. The menu is bizarre and not really Brazilian at all, the prices are high, the waitresses act like they're on an America's Next Top Model audition, and it's noisy beyond belief. If you're looking for a good late-night spot to meet someone of the oposite sex over drinks, it's great, though. It's always lively and fun, but whatever you do, stay away from the meal service.

I came with an friend whom I haven't seen in a few years -- she works nearby and knows the place well, and vouched for it as an having an "electic" menu. Knowing her, I knew it would be appealing -- either really hip, or elegant, or have amazing food. It was a terrific choice! Although I found the restaurant trendy and tasteful in decor, I did rate down a little on atmosphere because of the volume of the space -- we sat where the waitress assured us was the quietest spot, but it was also like a tunnel for noiseflow and tipsy raucousness. Value also plummeted a bit, because I think a $15 salad should taste pretty good. And it does. I had the tuna nicoise. Fresh greens, flavorful cherry tomatoes and olives with a zing. The slabs of fish were so tender --but not exactly bursting with flavor -- it did literally seem like they melted in my mouth. For appetizer, we shared a little bowl of sesame calamari -- great combo but the batter seemed a bit heavy-handed in both its recipe and its coating on the seafood. The winelist was small. Service was excellent and deliberate -- I noticed our waitress' discretion after she scanned our table, saw our drinks still full and us in animated conversation and kept to herself as not to interrupt our reunion. If you're ok dropping $50 for a good full meal and a few drinks, being surrounded by cute and sometimes rowdy people in a nice-looking restaurant and interacting with attentive wait staff, then you've found a door to dip into on Broadway, between 20th and 21st.

Bobby Flay should cut down on his television appearances and pay more attention to the service and the food. He should send his help including his managers to be schooled by Danny Meyer. His help make you feel like you are lucky to be in their presence. The food is really different, but sometimes the seasoning overwhelms the dish.

The service here is solid. You have to understand that a bulk of your price is going towards the excellent service you will receive in this restaurant. The food was also very well done. I had the scallops to start, while a couple of people with me started with the fois gras. The scallops were of a good size and extremely tasty. The fois gras was said to be too rich, but otherwise done very well. I had salmon as the main course, the sauce was very good, quite rich. The best part of the meal probably was the dessert. The peach tatin - peach tart with black pepper ice cream. This was unbelieveably good. An odd combination, but after tasting it I was convinced. This place is very expensive, and you have to be willing to pay the large sum of money to really enjoy it. If you are wondering whether it will be worth the $150 per person then you shouldn't come, because you will be preoccupied with how much you are paying. If instead you know you want to be at a great restaurant and know in advance you are willing to pay for it and can put the cost out of your head, you will have a great night.

Let me start by remarking how wonderful the service was, completely helpful and with not a hint of pretentiousness. The food was quite good as well, don't pass on the desserts. The appetizer list was both interesting and excellent. I had the duck for my main course, it was very good. Overall, Eleven Madison Park would get one of my highest recommendations and one more special kudos to the staff, they were spectacular!

The service was lacking and it wasn't that busy. We ordered coffee and mimosas but the server forgot about the coffee and had to be reminded. My water glass was left empty for a good portion of the meal as well. Then w/ respect to the food, the descriptions on the menu are misleading. You think you're getting something better than what arrives. For example, the french toast said it came w/ caramelized bananas....the bananas arrived plain, nothing caramelized about them and the side of bacon my husband ordered was extremely undercooked. We finished the banana bread they bring you to start and we were never offered any more.

If you're looking for down right comfort food with a casual vibe this is the place. Most of the service are young college age crowd, so you get that youthful vibe with its staff and customers. Call it a "better diner". You can feel the age from the stickiness or "grease" on the table surface. The nostalgic signs, and prints on the wall. My friend I ordered both the cod fish po boy. Mine with vegetables, which you can tell came straight out of a can, and he some fries. The portions were indeed overwhelming, and enough for my lunch tomorrow. Overall it's an easy choice with comforting food.

I went here for my birthday, and had made previous reservations. We were seated immeadiately wich was a plus, but after sitting down the waiter didn't come over for a good 20 minutes. The decorations we're very sleak, and I loved the color palete. When it comes down to the food, nothing to amazing. There are a billion amazing japanese restaraunts in NYC, I don't think this one should be on the list. It isn't so much trendy but that what it comes off to me as. I had the duck, and it was greasy and the sauce was way to salty. I wouldn't go back there for the food, but maybe for a drink.
