The Children's Museum is filled with a variety of experiences for toddlers and elementary aged children. The two level museum has mazes, a toddler play area, basketball area, store set-up, craft area and much much more. It seems to be directed primarily at those aged 10 and under. It is rather expensive and can be overcrowded on the weekends or for special events. On those days the kids don't get to play with the things they would like to and it makes the trip not worth the money. Stick to weekdays and there doesn't seem to be issues with the crowding. Parking is sufficient though it can be a bit of a walk on a busier day. There are picnic tables near the parking lot.

The Denver Zoo is a fun day out for the family. Over the past couple of years they have been working on new exhibits, habitats and facilities. The improvements have made the Zoo a much more enjoyable experience (previously it was rather shabby). Besides the fun new exhibits there is a lot of interaction with volunteers who happily answer the kids' questions and have displays that teach about wildlife. There is still some work to be done as several of the habitats are still very outdated and unattractive. There are a couple of restaurants and souvenir shops. The food is great but very pricey. Admission is reasonable and locals might find it worth buying a family pass. Parking has been greatly improved by the addition of a parking garage which is well lit and fairly easy to navigate.

From the time you drive up you can tell that Lakeside is in need of a lot of sprucing. The buildings and rides all look shabby and unclean. The saving grace for Lakeside is its reasonable price. There is a cute children's area which is worth the price for a fun afternoon outing. This area is sort of seperated from the main area which is nice for keeping the little ones away from the rowdier teens who frequent the other rides. We have found that often times many of the rides have issues like cars that don't work (thus making longer lines) and poor maintainance (some were even duct taped the last time we were there). There is a picnic area in the kids section so you can bring your own lunch.

Water World is a family water park with a large variety of rides. There is something for all ages from wave pools to raft rides. They serve a variety of yummy treats at their snack shops. They are great for a snack but are very expensive for a full meal. They do have picnic tables set up so you can bring your own lunch. One drawback we have found is the long lines. The kids get very impatient in line for some of the more popular rides which we have stood in for hours. Also one of the raft rides you have to carry a large raft to the top while standing in line for a long time. It was difficult to do with young children. Other than that it's a very enjoyable day out!

My kids love to go to Boondocks since it has something for each of them. There are several different types of go-karts appropriate for different ages. There is an arcade; many of the machines give tickets that the kids can trade in for little prizes. There are also batting cages and miniature golf amongst other things. The mini-golf courses are built onto a hill so there is some challenge to them. The only bad thing on the courses is that they are built next to the highway and it can be very difficult to chat amongst each other due to the noise. Boondocks seems to be well kept and clean. The outdoor areas are well lit. There is plenty of parking. We did notice that the arcade machines have a tendency to be broken or not give tickets as they should but the staff has always been happy to help with that. It can be very pricey to take a family to Boondocks but they offer coupons and specials which help with the cost.

We have purchased two vehicles from the Elway Mazda location in Westminster. We found the sales staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy. When we first looked there I thought the selection would be limited but they actually had much more variety than anticipated (in both new and used vehicles). Also, they offered to try to find us what we wanted through their other dealerships as well. The purchases were completed quickly and easily. With that said, we did not return to Elway Mazda for our last two car purchases due to some issues with after-service. The last vehicle we purchased from them had an issue with the brakes. They did service on it a couple of times but then decided they were finished trying to fix the brakes. We were left with a vehicle that we were not confident driving. It is unfortunate as we had always had such good luck with the dealership before that.
