They also feature the Hall of Life which is a lesson about how human life is formed and the differernt points in the human life. There is a large area of dinasours and prehistoric animals. They also have a large area with amreican indians, gems and rocks, and other animals too. This is also a great place for field trips.

The American Tall Ship tours offer a few differnt rides. The evening party cruise was fun and they had a live DJ with dancing on the deck of the ship. They also had snacks down below. The day trip gave a more detailed tour of the bay pointing out a variety of interesting things. It was a nice cruise and not too expensive.

The Sotterley Mansion is an intersting history lesson. They have many building to tour. I found the slave quarter house one of the most interesting being that it is so small and up to 16 people lived in it. They host a variety of events too including a wine festival, candle lit tour and ghost tour. The price is reasonable too.

Dr Mudd's House and Museum tour was interesting. They have some original things on display from the time when John Wilkes Booth was a patient there. The interpreters are very knowlegable and anwered all of the questions that were asked. There is a very small gift shop with some books and other things avalible too. It doesn't take long for the tour so you can easliy plan to do other things the same day.

The Virginia Marine Science Museum is actually located in 2 separte buildings that you can walk through a swamp area through trails to get to or drive to the other building. They have an IMAX theater also. The main building has most of the animal exhibits with the large tanks. There are also many places to sit and watch the fish for as long as you want. They have a lot of reach in tanks where you can feel the sea life. This is a great place to take kids. The second building has otters that are fed on a schedule so ou can plan to see them feeding.

The Clavert Marine Museum is a great opportunity to see and go into a lighthouse. They also have a boat tour you can go on that takes you around the island and points out things of interest. They have exhibits of boat and live fish also. It fairly inexpensive and rarely crowded except on special occasions. They also have a nice gift shop.

The COllege of Southern Maryland is a two year school that offers a variety of associate degrees. The classes are not too big and the professors are almost always willing to help students after hours. The campus is pretty and has a river running along the edge that has live music on fridays during the summer. There is a small computer lab that I have never had a problem finding a computer free to use. This school is great for completing the basics.

Ashbrook Apartments are in a great location. It is walking distance to Pembroke Mall, Downtown Virginia Beach with the new restaurnts and shops and 2 movie theaters. The apartments are on the small side but th elocation makes up for it. They have a nice outdoor pool in the summer and a very small fitness center. There is alos plenty of parking. Nice place to live.

The African Art Museum is a smaller museum located behind the Smithsonian Castle. The exhibits are very interesting and include masks, jewlery, paintings and sculputres. The gift shop has some really interesting things too such as lamps, jewlery and reprints of the paintings. The museum is very well laid out but did seem more crowded since it is a smaller building. It is definatly worth seeing and I almost always go when I am in town.

The American Art Museum is a huge museum that has two seperate buildings that are connected with an underground walkway. This museum will take the whole day if you want to see everything. There are many types of art and they are all amazing. When you first walk into the museum you come into a large marble foyer that is beautiful. Each area of the museum has a different feel and makes the experience even better.
