My family really enjoys the Washington Park Zoo. It always seems clean and the animals well taken care of. I like that they have made efforts toward easy viewing of the animals. Although it isn't as incredible as Miami's "cageless" zoo, it is much better than a lot of zoos that have so many bars that little ones can't see anything. They also seem to be continually updating. The last time we were there, we watched a show at the amphitheater about birds of prey, and that was a lot of fun. The food is your standard zoo fare, underwhelming and overpriced, but there are lots of nice spots to bring your own food and have a picnic. It’s definitely a nice way to spend an afternoon.
