My all-time favorite Chinese restaurant in Cleveland. The sauces are fabulous. My fave dishes are Triple Delight (AMAZING scallops) and the world's best King Pau Chicken. Just don't show up there on a Monday because they're closed! Staff highly professional, and by the way you do need to look decent - no tank tops or cutoffs. Try it, even if you live crosstown.

Mamma Santa's is the kind of place you can net visit for ten years, then come back to find it just as you remember. They have a wonderfully tangy pizza sauce that goes great with botled beer. Prices are very reasonable. Parking can be a real hassle (especially on Saturday night), as with everything in Little Italy. But if you live in Cleveland and you've never eaten here, you really should.

I always like to patronize Susan's, and I wish their Fairlawn store hadn't closed. Superb service, fine coffee and a tempting array of pastries and breads. It's ideally located to the KSU campus and downtown Kent. Lots of free parking. The interior is attractively laid out in varnished pine with comfortable seating, ideal for conversation.

While Applebee's is a chain, this one truly serves its community, and the large and steady clientele shows it. Very friendly and dedicated staff. Beware trying to get in after a Wadsworth HS football game, because folks just pile in after tyhe game and the wait can be very long. If you like Applebee's, this is probably as good an example as you'll find anywhere.

Eat n Park is, I think, run by Big Boy (much of the food looks identical). But it's a better setup with a salad bar that includes soup and some hot foods. The service ranges from fair to good. Excellent value for money, a good place to duck into for a quick meal, while shopping up and down North Court Street.

If you find yourself in the Lodi area and are looking for a good inexpensive meal, Check out the Lighthouse. The prices are very good and the menu varied. It's a nice quiet atmosphere. They also are a good place to grab an inexpensive cup of coffee to go, in a town that lacks a coffeehouse per se. Charming location looking out toward Lodi's little triangle park.

As bars go, the Double Olive is pretty good. There's nothing particularly special about the ambience, but the crowd is usually fairly hip and the jukebox is not too obnoxious. Great location down in the valley on Riverview Road. Good prioces, not much in the way of food but if you're looking for a place to convivially knock back some brews, it's a very good meeting place.
