Every season is fun at Down to Earth. In the spring and early summer the nursery is humming with new perennials and vegetable starts. In the winter they've got wonderful greenery and trees. And all year long, inside is great home and gift shopping - from glassware, kitchen gadgets, table linens and bakeware, to good-smelling natural soaps, lotions and bath goods, to pretty picture frames, drawer pulls, candles, and home accents. It's a great store to wander in.

Sigh, I love the Pearl Day Spa. It's very Eugene-y in that it's located in a converted house, has marmoleum (environmentally-friendly!) flooring, funky waiting room seating, and it just feels sort of earthy and natural. However, they've not traded professionalism for this earthy vibe. The staff is very knowledgeable and more-than-competent. If you've wanted to try out something new, like a body wrap or hot stone massage, but feel a little intimidated in a trendier and slick spa, this might be a good fit for you.

I was just thrilled when Miss Meer's opened in Eugene - the department stores in town tended to carry virtually the same inventory, so if you wanted something unique or higher-end, you had to go to Portland. These are probably the most expensive shoes in town (it's all relative), but also the highest quality. I've also had great customer service! If putting on your best Birkenstocks doesn't quite make you feel dressed up, head over to Miss Meers!
