I have a very good friend who always takes her vehicle to Central when she needs work and she's always had a good experience.
When my boyfriend's show car needed work done to it I convinced him to go to Central and ended up being sorry for it. His car is a quality show car. It's the kind of car that could be (and actually has been) in a magazine so he wants the best for it.
He has a very unusual solid-colored paint job and had some parts that he wanted to have painted to match. Central gave him a quote which we felt was high, but we figured it was because they do good work. How wrong we were.
The parts came back painted in a very uneven color (you could see the base color peering through in spots) that did not match the car's color. The parts also had plastic shavings sticking up all over the edges. My boyfriend had specifically told them they would need to sand the edges, which they didn't do. They also did not follow directions well and painted an area that they were told to mask off. My boyfriend would not accept the parts and made them redo it. They did redo it, but the end result still didn't match the car. He took different parts to another shop (I reviewed that shop as well) and they matched the car perfectly on the first try so it can be done.
I will say that the employees we talked to were nice and they stated after the fact that they had a new painter (although this should have been pointed out beforehand). The manager took responsibilty for the matter and gauranteed that the job would be fixed. Even though the paint color still didn't match, the quality was at least improved upon.
The parts that Central painted will ultimately be repainted to match the car, in the meantime it has been pointed out to him that the parts don't match the car, so it is noticeable.
My friend and her family continue to go to them with no problems (for this and the personality of workers I give them the benefit of 3 stars), but for all of mine and my boyfriend's future car services we will go elsewhere.
