Laumeier Sculpture Park holds a place close to my heart. As long as I can remember, we have been taking our children there for picnics and letting them run around and play on the (appropriate) sculptures. We love the hands-on kids area and have been to many events there this year alone. With the addition of LOMA (Laumeier Outdoor Music Ampitheater) this park is sure to be a cherished asset for years to come.

Although, I have heard the food was substandard as of late, the view was always breathtaking and seeing the downtown St. Louis skyline lit up against the night sky was just amazing. The venue itself is unique and interesting - we enjoyed being met in the parking lot by an escorted golf cart to transport us, and the glass of champagne by yet another attendant at the door.

If you are fans of Walt Disney World's Drive in Sci Fi restaurant, I assure you, the setup may be the same at Ronnie's cafe but the food is a far cry from edible. When we went there last, I suspect a teen working in the back sprayed some sort of ammonia-based cleaner on the food. Management was of no help, and the owner sent us coupons for our "trouble".

A few years ago I purchased several iguana babies. After a few months, one would die, since they are very difficult to keep in an enclosed environment. The staff was always wonderful about the death and very helpful in finding an appropriate replacement. I also purchased lots of fish there and could not have been happier with the selection and prices.

We went to adopt a kitten from the Humane Society assuming their practices here humane. However, when we arrived we were told that there was no way for us to adopt a kitten on that day - they were closing in an hour. The volunteer actually asked another volunteer to come in and help another family because she "wasn't a kid person". We went to a no-kill shelted that really loved their animals and were much happier.
