I would say that Oceanic is on the high end of average. It take FOREVER to get through to them on the telephone if you have problems but once you get them on the phone they are incredibly courteous and helpful.

If you are coming to Oahu you must go to Hanauma Bay. Even the most novice snorkler will have a good time, my 5 year old was able to see fish without the aid of a snorkel.

We have seen turtles in the past, and the veiw going down is just breath taking.
There is the minor annoyance of the movie you have to watch, but it is there for a good reason, and does teach anyone who hasn't grown up around reefs how to treat them.
The beach is clean, and the crowd is mildly controlled, not to mention there are life guards and almost NO surf.

We decided that my daughter had plenty of toys so this year for her 6th birthday we took her on the Atlantis submarine.
I knew she would have a good time being the animal lover that she is, but I was skeptical about how much my husband and I would enjoy it.
It was FANTASTIC. It really is something you must do once in your life. The "captain" was fun, and our guide was knowledgable about all of the creatures of the sea.
We were able to see sharks, turtles and all kinds of fish! My daughter is still talking about it months later!

Their service is extrordinary. I have never had anyone be rude to me, they are always on time and it just smells so dang good in there.
I wish it were a little closer to my home, but I will make the drive for this kind of pampering.

Some of our favorites are their french onion soup, the chicken niblicks, and the ribs.
The service is spotty, but the prices are pretty decent for Honolulu.
We will continue to eat there!

Not only did we feel the place was WAY overpriced but the portions were small, and ALL of the food we recieved was COLD.

There are lots of places to take your kids on Oahu but the Dole Plantation might be one of MY kids faves.
We always have to ride the pineapple express, a train ride through the pineapple fields...

We always have to ride the pineapple express, a train ride through the pineapple fields that has an explanation of the pineapple industry and some catchy music.
The maze is fun too, although the younger set (under 3) may not appreciate it.
The store is the one stop shop for Hawaiian souvenirs, and has some really good pineapple sherbet.
We go ALL of the time!

From the specials they run on various months June is Crab month, to the regular menu Dixie Grill can't be beat when you want to feel a bit of home.
They have Brunch on Saturday and Sunday, and when you ask for biscuits and gravy or grits they know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
Try the country fried steak for dinner, you won't be disappointed! They are also very courteous if you ask for something "adjusted" on the menu....When we tried South Beach Diet they were more than willing to help us accommodate.
It is a bit pricey for down home food but, we overlook that since they have a great kids menu, and a sandbox for the kids to roll around in while we wait for our crab legs and BBQ (try the Savannah sauce).
The only reason they don't get the 5th star is because the service is often slow but well worth the wait~!
