However, Black Bottle, is probably the best place in Belltown.
You can tell that they put a lot of thought and effort into the winelist, and the prices are as reasonable as restaurant wine gets.
I walked in to Black Bottle soon after it opened. There were only a few people at the bar. "I need to use the bathroom" I said as I breezed past the customers and bartender on my way to the back. I walked straight back out the door afterwards, saying thanks on the way.
This is what I call a good customer experience.
I firmly believe that being nice will pay off in the long run.

Pacific Crest brews their own beer and barbeques their own meat. It is this kind of commitment to DIY craftsmanship that reminds me that there is some good in this world.
The BBQ alone is some of the best in Seattle.
Pacific Crest is down past Boeing Field and is different than Pacific Rim Brewery in West Seattle which is a completely different place with almost no food, but a completely unique vibe that makes it worth visiting.

Get up early on a weekend morning, especially a cold weekend morning, and go walk around Pioneer Square. It might seem a little dark and desolate. You are too early for underground tours. Too early for football fans. Way too early for bar-hoppers.
And then you happen upon Zeitgeist Coffee. A warm and cozy spot with some unique, built-in wooden seating, no wonder it's popular.

I think Kidd Valley has the best shakes.
They use actual, real ingredients and they offer a wide variety--you can get a boysenberry shake that has real fruit in it.
Try that at McDonald's or Dick's.

This is a no-brainer, but just in case someone turned their's off:
Do not buy a mini-tree at Whole Foods.
I love Whole Foods, and they do have the best grocery store selection of Belgian beers in town,
but I saw some mini-trees outside for, like 35 bucks. That is a bad deal.
I do think that going out to a u-cut-it place is a great opportunity for a family to enjoy using sharp saws together.

The Frankfurter is known for having the best, fresh-squeezed lemonade in Seattle. There are several locations, but most people know Frankfurter from Folklife or Bumbershoot where they have been a fixture for years. Clearly, they have hotdogs and sausages as well, but we're talking lemonade here.

They have a good selection of this type of poster including a really nice Art Deco-style poster made up for Puget Sound rather than the originals advertising places like St.Moritz and the French Riviera.
The owner also travels all over the world and brings back great photographs.

Josef at Europa on Dexter has a thick, confidence-inspiring German accent. What's more, he is a great mechanic for anything Teutonic.
Until recently, Josef ran his own shop, but now he has sold his business into Europa and works out of there.
The other people are nice enough, but when you talk to Josef, you know you are not getting the run around.
