I went to St. Matthew's Church growing up and to the Church all of my life. I have seen it grow and develop and it has just gotten better in time. There is a small sense of community and the Church itself is just absolutely gorgeous. It was built quite a few years ago and it defies the traditional church, yet maintains the religious feel. It's quite cozy inside as it is floor to ceiling wood with stained glass windows. The Priests are pretty strict with dues though so don't fall behind! This is only part of the Church that bothers me as it seems centered on the money aspect rather than the religious. The fellow parishioners are wonderful though as well as the lay people.

This is a great dress shop that also carries all bridal accessories as well as jewelry, shoes, hand bags etc.. for just formal wear. This is a hot spot for prom dresses as well. Kathy Faber designs and makes her own dresses and you can bring a picture of a dress or come with ideas and she will create a masterpiece for you, perfectly fit on you. It can get a bit crowded in her shop on a Saturday morning during wedding and prom season but it's well worth the trip. She has a few helpers that are well seasoned to assist you as well. There is a great big changing area upstairs where you can take dresses to try on along with all accessories, including shoes. I also had my veil made for me here. Great place with attention to detail!

Located in the Stop & Shop plaza in Winsted, CT, the Mullberry Bush has a huge inventory of clothing for newborns up to 3-4T. Though not abundant, they do carry some strollers, car seats and other misc baby gear.
While you are looking, you can leave your toddler to play in the back as they have a safe area set up for the kids.
I have also dropped off clothes here although I didn't ask for a tax receipt so I'm not sure if they provide this.

This is a hit or miss consignment shop. It is conveniently located on the Turnpike in Southington (Plantsville section). It is a bit cramped with items but I see this as a good thing. The inventory ranges from household furniture to adult/children clothing. I have found many children's clothing here but recently has been a bit scarce. I'm hoping that it picks back up soon. I would definitely give this place a shot as there are great bargains to find at times!

Kid Stuff carries clothes for all ages, strollers, cribs, high chairs, changing tables, and oodles of used toys. It's a small store and is located in downtown Harwinton, just off of the Green. Remember that it's off of South Street though otherwise you'll have a challenge in finding it. I've found a few dresses for my friend's girls in here but nothing beyond this. My allergies act up after I'm in there over 20 minutes so it must have some musty mold in there...it does smell a bit musty.

This store offers 'gently worn' second hand clothing and accessories for small children. The smaller children's clothing look to be in better condition than some of the older children's clothing. The baby clothing is the best. The store is quite stocked and if you're not claustrophobic, then you're all set. They do carry strollers, cribs and much more but just be sure to check these items out throughly as your babies safety is more important than a bargain. You can find some brand new items here but they will be more expensive then if you found it at Target/Kmart, for some odd reason.

If you are looking for fine tailored suits and dress shirts, this is the place to go. I've traveled Asia quite a bit and this brings me back to the quality and attentiveness that I found in the fine tailors there. The silk shirts are of good quality as well as the suits. The prices are worth the quality and top quality fit! Highly recommended!

This is my son's favorite clothes shopping place. They have quite the assortment of trendy clothes for males and females. The staff are very friendly and great, even though they've got more piercings than everyone I know combined. :) My son hit this place up just before heading to college and he's glad that he did as there is nothing close to this store near his University. The clothes are not ultra conservative but definitely today's fashion for the 'kids'.

I've used the indoor tanning as well as the spray on tanning here and have been pleased with both. They have the stand up or lay down booths for the indoor tanning. Both are clean and private. The spray on tanning is equally tan although I wish that they had explained things better then first time. Be sure to goop up your palms of your hands and the soles of your feet, including between the toes or you'll be obvious - it will be extremely dark in just those places! I went to FL with very dark palms for a wedding that I was in. Live and learn, I know better now! :)
