I have had a lot of massage in my day and this place is excellent everytime I go. Even when I can't get in to see my favorites, Nora and Sam, I haven't ever been displeased with the massage. Deep Tissue with the Essential Oil blend of your choice is GREAT! I want to try a facial next since I hear those include a lot of massage too.

International Orange is a great escape. The massage here is excellent, especially the In Fiore massage, and I like how the menu is simple--nothing too fancy or confusing--just amazing treatments....

The facials here are the best I have ever had, every esthetician is amazing. The yoga classes are a great way to start your treatment, and I higly recommend Andrea's class. The boutique also has amazing products!

My doctor diagnosed me with a repetitive stress injury in my right wrist, and was suggesting surgery to correct the problem. I'd been wearing a wrist brace to keep my hand more stable, but I was still feeling pain in my arm and hand. On the advice of a friend, I went and had a massage with Paul, and he was able to locate the source of my pain. It turns out that some trigger points in my neck were causing the first rib to pull up against my collarbone, pinching the nerve to my arm. Paul was able to get the trigger point, and he showed me some exercises and stretches to help keep my hands relaxed and pain-free!

Melisa is the absolute BEST skin care specialist I've ever been to. I recently had a facial with her - and unlike other facials - I did not break out at all or experience any skin irritation. Plus, I'm getting married in less than two months and I had some sun damage (brown spots, tan lines) to take care of. I went to three dermatologists, tried bleaching cream, etc. and NOTHING worked until Melisa. After a some of glycolic treatments, and mircoderm abrasion (a total of six) all of my sun damage is completely gone!! I could not be happier with Melisa - she is truly the most amazing skin care professional I've ever seen. I would HIGHLY recommend her!

I went to Psoas with recurring sciatic pain that often made it difficult to stand for any length of time - Jenny and Scott knew just what to do - rather than just rubbing my back, they did deep work on my psoas and other muscles. After 6 weekly sessions, I've been pain free for 5 months - now we're working on loosening up some of the other trouble spots. I've seen lots of massage therapists and these guys are definitely two of the very best! Because Psoas is owned by the therapists who work there, they seem to care just that little bit more about the results they achieve.

I have incredibly difficult hair, and it's been butchered by even very competent stylists. But then I met Marty at Hair Play.
I am a very poor grad student, but save my pennies to spend a few hours in Marty's chair. My hair looks rockstar fabulous for weeks and months on end, and evokes tons of compliments. And even though my hair takes a long time to color and cut to get right, he is so dedicated to his art that rather than rush me through, he'll stay even well after closing time to do it right.
And ladies with frustrating curly hair - he specializes in it! All the stylists there rock, but I will only ever go to Marty.
Downside? Hair Play is a bit pricey, but not moreso than other good salons in the city, and it's so totally worth it. You won't be disappointed!

Tip to readers looking for your 'perfect' stylist: Make sure you understand exactly what the stylist is going to do BEFORE he/she starts instead of trying to tell them what to do DURING the cut.

Susan is the best. She totally took the time to ask what I wanted (even though I wasn't really sure). We looked at pictures and cuts and color. She was so friendly and nice -- the time passed very quickly. I would recommend this salon to any/everyone who is afraid to try somewhere new. Only thing was the price -- A little high, but I guess worth it b/c you leave with exactly what you wanted.
