I've been seeing Shirely for almost 2 years now. I recommend her to all my friends because she is great and is so knowledgeable about skin. She doesn't try to push products and will even give you an alternative from the more expensive brands. I used to get really bad break-outs but now they are far and few between.

Open since the Prohibition era, Tony Niks maintains Atomic Age splendor--from the starburst clock mounted on the wood-paneled walls to the sleekly upholstered, curved banquettes lining the room. While the retro-cool look is circa 1949, the atmosphere is closer to 1989, as U2 is more likely than Frank Sinatra to get the clean-cut, 30-something crowd singing.

This SoMa space is visually interesting with its contemporary art, a vaulted ceiling, skylights and touches of patinaed steel throughout. Everything from the banisters to the bar is handcrafted, and it shows. The wine bar is tucked into the back corner of the main gallery, while the mezzanine features additional installations and an art library. Not many San Francisco galleries feel as relaxed as Varnish, due in part to its friendly staff, the presence of music (not many galleries play rock) and wine choices.

I’ve been going to 111 for the last 10yrs. Can’t say enough good stuff about the place. It's been a hub of the art and music scene in SF since before I started going. They host all sorts of events: films, art openings, djs, bands, you name it. It’s constantly changing, and different every night of the week. Some nights are off the hook, and other nights are totally chill. If you show up on a packed night and it can be hard to get a drink Other nights are mellow and you can visit with the staff, who have been there for YEARS. (Getting to know the staff on slower nights can make it easier to get a drink when it’s packed- shhhhh!!! The ONE jerk that WORKED there is GONE!) I've never eaten there, nor have I been to their hip-hop nights but salsa dancing on Fridays is off the hook! I've been there three times and I'm going again tonight. It's classy, nice wooden floors...
I've never eaten there, nor have I been to their hip-hop nights but salsa dancing on Fridays is off the hook! I've been there three times and I'm going again tonight. It's classy, nice wooden floors for spins, good music, good dancers...the only thing I would change is the price, but maybe that's because I'm cheap. I usually never pay $15 to go anywhere but Jillians is worth it...on a Friday night.
