Bogus Basin is a great value for skiing for families. Located less than an hour from anywhere in Boise, they have great season pass sales, and a family of four can ski all season for under $900.
They also have Nordic, or cross-country and snow-shoeing trails .
Equipment for downhill and cross-country skiing is available for rental at the resort, but there are not a lot of snow-shoes available to rent. Renting equipment in Boise and then going up can save time and allow you to make sure they have what you need.
