If you don't finish it, you can't order until you do (or so that was how i felt when the waitress came by).
The lines are getting longer at Makinos these days. It has became quite popular with the locals and I can see why. For a flat price, you can keep ordering the most expensive item on the menu. Especially at dinner, you can order soft shell crabs and uni.

Magoos' pizza is really of good quality and the ingredients taste very fresh. It is a about $25 for one pizza though. It's weird because their beers are dirt cheap! One pitcher for $6 or less and they offer such a variety, I was really surprised.
If you want good draft for cheap, go to Magoos!

It is a pretty big warehouse, with no AC, and very little staff. But you'll sure to find a good deal because they always have sales!

The store however, has too much stuff inside or else, they need to expand. It is so packed that you can only have one person per isle otherwise, you will probably be stuck if you're not skinny enough.
They do have a wide variety of materials to choose from and the prices are decent. I usually go there if I know what I want to pick up so i don't spend too much time there because it can be stuffy.

We always crave for Bubbies, esp. their green tea mochi ice cream! There's something about this place that makes you come back for more. It is no doubt the best local ice cream parlor on the island. Lucky for the university students who live so close that they can go there anytime.
I also enjoy their "screaming orgasm" ice cream which like the other review mentioned, is one of their funny or wacky names they have. It is consist of coffee ice cream, cookies and cream and chocolate. It is delicious! Yes, I would even say orgasmic. =)

Venus is a gay bar half of the time and offers pretty good drag shows and male reviews on certain nights (Sat and Fri). They allow entry for ages 18 and over but most people don't go down there until 12 or so because they are either coming from Olounge that closes at 2PM or another club near by.
On most nights, Venus is pretty dead. On Fridays and Sundays, it is PACKED most of the time. Drinks specials are good before 10:30 or 11PM I believe and the DJ is alright. They tend to play too much variety so there can be dead moments on the dance floor.

Their ahi poke platter is one of the best I've had. It is pricey but well worth it. Their other foods, NY Steak and pasta dishes are not as well prepared. I have to say that they need a little bit of work on this. Sometimes it can taste too bland and sometimes too salty. The waiters, however, are more than happy to replace it for you.
Brew Moon also offers a Comedy show featuring Lanai and Augie on Wednesday nights.

The Contemporary Museum is a nice museum tucked in the hills of Tantalus. They have a nice selection of art from all over and I have to say their collection is better than Academy of Arts (for moderm art anyway). The "contemporay" is definitely there.
The entry fee is pretty cheap and you can also dine at their bistro in the courtyard. They have great lunches.

I like dining at the Willows restaurant because it feels so homey with its lush tropical setting. I usually go for the buffet and get really stuffed. It is probably one of the few lunch buffets offering a Prime Rib station and offers Creme Burlee for dessert. They buffet is much better than most that I have been to in Hawaii. The quality is not bad and the price is about $18-20 for lunch.
I also had occasion to sit in their private rooms as well as their canoe dining table. Both have very nice settings and included a personal server.

Jackie's Kitchen is a nicely decorated restaurant with flat screen displaying Jackie Chan's movies. The theme and the ambiance is nice but the food is not as good as I expected. It was decent but nothing to googoo gaagaa over. They were supposed to be well known for their bartenders doing tricks while preparing drinks and I got a sneak peek at their performance which was pretty cool. It did cost over $10 if you wanted to order one.
Go to Jackie's for a novelty experience but food needs improvement.
