We were referred to Prudential Michael Smith Realtors through the Costco program. We were "trading up" to a larger home so we bought and sold using this same office. We worked with Sandi Briggs who was wonderful and sold our house at our asking price within one week of listing. We also worked with her on finding a new home which we were able to do. She was able to time everything so that we moved straight from one house to the other. Sandi was great at explaining the whole process and was really an advocate for us. If we needed to sell again we wouldn’t hesitate to list with her again.

The games section alone is 3 times larger than what you'd find at a chain store. Leave the stroller in the car as aisles are cramped and this store is multi-level.
Prices are on the high side but are not unreasonable. We bought a pair of "Shoe Cars" when our son was 1 and he still loves them at 3 and they are in perfect condition. Buy the common toys at a discount outlet and buy your specialty toys here.

Appointments never feel rushed and both optometrists are dedicated to your eye health (and not just selling glasses and contacts.) Pricing on glasses is more than the mall stores but it's worth it since you are sure to get the correct prescription here. At least once a year they have a "frame fair" where they bring in representatives from major frame makers. You can save 20% on your order and have a huge selection to choose from.

1) Job Placement is not free. Either you pay all or a portion of the placement fee or your eventual employer pays the fee. You are probably not going to get paid as much as if the employer didn't have to pay a finders fee. So, this really isn't free no matter how you look at it.
2) They seem to go by the "have you interview for everything and see if it sticks mentality." So, expect to have them call you with things that are not appropriate and do not meet your specifications.
I would suggest seeking help from your local Worksource. It's free, and they can give you just as good advice.

Black Diamond Bakery puts on a wonderful breakfast. Meals are tasty and a good size for the price. Their lunch sandwiches are also good and made on bread baked fresh on the premises. Be prepared to wait as I have never been there when there wasn't a long line of folks waiting to be seated.
This would be a five star establishment if there was more parking and the wait to get in wasn't so long. My advice is to go early!

The Covington Aquatic Center is conveniently located next to Tahoma High School. The pool is a bit on the older side, but is well maintained with a friendly staff. The lessons at Covington Aquatic center have a low student to teacher ratio and well trained staff.
Lap passes and swimming lessons cost much less than at other pools in the area. (Such as Kinderswimmer or Olsen Mansion)

We have used Sprint Moving and Storage three times in the last 10 years for moves around town. You box up all your goods and they supply the truck and two men. They have all equipment, furniture pads, tie downs that you need. All you need to do is box up everything but the furniture. When you call you will do a detailed inventory which they can use to estimate the time of the job. You might want to double check what you have before you call so that you can get the closest estimate possible. These guys are incredibly nice and professional and we never had a problem with any of our moves.
The pricing is very reasonable since you do all the packing yourself. Yes, you could just rent a UHaul - but this saves your back!

The Northwest Railway Museum seems like a good choice for those with kids who love trains and train enthusiasts. However, the 25 minute round trip ride is much too short. So much of the time is spent slowly pulling out of the depot and stopping to look at Snoqualmie falls, you probably only spend 5 minutes going each direction. It is NOT a looped trip so the way back is the same way you came. We went for the Thomas the Train event and our son loves Thomas but was more impressed with the school bus we took from the shuttle lot. Save your money unless your little ones are REALLY into trains. Try to attend a special event like Thomas or the Santa train to make it a bit more interesting.

If you are expecting and want to deliver at Valley Medical Center then this is the clinic for you. They also have satellite clinics in Covington and Newcastle; if you can see your doctor there it is a bit more relaxing. The main Renton clinic is always pretty hectic. Dr. Cassidy is wonderful and always has time to thoroughly answer your questions. The nursing and clinic staff is also very friendly. There are a large number of doctors in this clinic, so you can feel comfortable that if your doctor is unavailable you'll be able to see someone right away.

You can feel comfortable taking your children to Renton Pediatric Associates. They have convenient hours and it is not to hard to get appointments. Just be sure to call ahead for regular (non-emergency) checkups as those can fill up a few weeks ahead of time. Dr. Shorr is incredibly friendly and so soft spoken the kids can’t help but like him. The office is conveniently located in the Medical Arts building next to Valley Medical Center. There is a laboratory (for blood work) and x-rays etc. available right in the same building. This can save you a lot of time in case of an unfortunate accident.
