I'm one of those people who gets lost in REI. Second Ascent is a lot smaller but also more affordable. It carries a lot of outdoor equipment both new and used. They have a great sale selection with a big turnover so you have to visit often to see all their stuff. And the sales staff don't bother you while you shop, but if you have any questions they're very knowledgable. Got a nice little shell for skiing here.

Walk in to this two story building and you'll feel like a kid again. Since FAO Schwartz bit the big one this is really the best place to go for all your children-type needs. Parking is not easy, since it's right in Pioneer Square, but if you're in for an afternoon of shopping you may as well go pick up a new Monopoly or Scrabble board for your not-so-young friends.

Damsalfly has a nice mix of new and vintage. The clothes are basically cute clothes that won't break the bank, and some nice handmade jewelry as well. And candles and incense! The layout is a bit strange - just go down the corridor to the back. Although the stuff in front is ok, it's a bit more expensive than in back.

Well, the clothing selection isn't really my thing. One of those places where the only item I liked was over two hundred. Everything just looks too much like Anthropologie. But the shoes and lingerie are to die for, and I have to admit I want some of those jeans. I do need to return for the beauty supplies.

My boyfriend is a huge fashion maven, and we’ve been to every men’s boutique in town except this one. When we first came here he died a little. He then cried at not being able to buy more than one item. It’s more reasonable than say Mario’s, and nicer than Nordstrom. Very unique and stylish items.

I'm not a huge fan of teriyaki, but when you want it, you get it, right? The gyoza is awesome, and it's very reasonably priced.

Fresh made french-press coffee and delicious crepes. A wonderful brunch spot on the weekends.
