I went to the Vanderbilt Mansion this week while my sister was visiting from Texas. It was wonderful for her and also for me, and I live here. They have tours throughout the day that last about 1 hour. The guard that gave our tour was very knowledgeable and also funny and personable. He kept everyones interest, young and old and almost had you thinking you were there at the time all of this history was happening. I would recommend this visit to those who are trying to entertain guests from out of town as well as those who live here and are looking for something fun to do.
