Horrocks Farm Market is not a farmer market in the true sense...it is more of a fruit, flower and vegetable market with some craft supplies too. There are even come other grocery items. The prices on fresh produce are hard to beat. Then there are seasonal items...outdoor plants and flowers to take home and plant. This is a favorite stop for the lower prices to be found here and the variety.

Anselmo Gallery is in a small space in a row of storefronts. I attended a show there and it was very difficult to view the items that were hung for this show because the space is packed with art items of all varieties, many not original art works, but artsy items. There were some great items in this gallery, but it is not really set up to host shows.

Cynthia's is located in the Waterfront Shops in Duck and has a variety of gift type items that include art, baskets, sleepwear, toiletries and jewelry. I had a difficult time choosing between a few gorgeous pairs of earrings and in the end a couple pairs would not let me leave with taking them with me. I have never regretted buying them, but I did leave a nice little painting behind that I sometimes wish was hanging in that spot I thought it would look good in...oh well...

The Town Tub is a gas station / convenience store / laundromat right in town (well the very edge of the small downtown.) It kinda ruins the downtown, historic feel of Laingsburg. It is a convenient gas and run-in store though...so I am "ok" with it..nothing special ... convenient but out of place.

I happened upon Fabrile Gallery as we walked from our hotel to the Natural Science Museum. There were some gorgeous pieces in the window, so we wandered in. there were many unique items here, a gorgeous art glass lamp called out to me, I mentioned it to my family, but left without it, purchasing a few nifty clay fortune cookies as gifts. A couple of days later my family presented the art glass lamp to me as a Mother's Day gift. I can see it as I write this..and it is one lovely, artsy lamp. I am sure their offerings change, but from what I saw, you will be delighted with what they offer.

Sally Huss Gallery is such a bright, happy place that it really is "the Happiest Store on the Beach" as it's business card states. It takes a good long time to peruse this store with it's many articles for sale...but what ties most of it together is.."bright, happy." a couple of pottery pieces decided to come home with me the day I visited. If you decide to stop by, maybe some "bright, happy" will choose to come home with you, too!

Although there are "mega" stores with groceries in around, I much prefer not to be lured by all the other stuff and just do my grocery shopping in a grocery store. This Kroger Store is relatively new and, thus, still has that clean, new feel. One of the best things that I enjoy at this Kroger is their fresh flower selection...they always seem to have a great selection to choose from in the fresh cut bunches and very often have gorgeous flowering plants too. Flowers are food for the soul. This Kroger is a nice place to shop.

We first tried Tim Horton's when we were traveling through Canada (Tim Horton's chain originated in Canada.) I tried the Black Forest Ham and swiss and their crusty sub roll with their spicy sauce and lettuce...YUM. Now, they have franchised into the US, and they still have ham and swiss...but not the Black Forest ham. Still the subs are good, and the cookies are good. I have never tried them, but they are a donut shop with coffee, too and they have soups and other baked goods.

I did not think I wanted to take the Trolley Tour, but was talked into it. It was a chilly autumn day and some of the trolley's plastic windows made it difficult to see, but overall, it was a positive experience. The drivers told interesting stories and historical facts about the city, each driver with their own personality thrown in. (I could have done without the recorded celeb stuff though.) The fact that you can get on and off the Trolley system makes it a great way to get around the city as a tourist, too. Knowing this now...I definitely would try this starting out early in the day...so that we could get on and off more. Overall, I guess I would recommend the Old Town Trolley Tours, though they are a bit pricey.

I am not sure if this is the location of the Legal Seafoods we dined at, as we jumped off a Trolley Tour for lunch. I chose to try the crabcake and it was a taste delight in every way, subtle in flavors that melted on the palate. The others in my group found their meals to be tasty as well. As for me...I savor the memory of dining on the perfect crabcake.
