Arlington is blessed to have a great hardware store. Arlington hardware has been in business for over 100 years. The store has the original hardwood floors. The staff at Arlington hardware go out of their way to ask if you need help and will help you find just the part you're looking for. It's such a nice change from a big box hardware where employees are impossible to find and help is even harder to get. I have been to the big box looking for parts to a sink and had them tell me to try Arlington Hardware. They have lots of parts for fixing things in your home instead of just replacing them. They have the same thing a big box has, computer paint color matching, lumber yard, tools. They also have a more personal touch of home decorating items like you'd find in a cute gift shop. They serve free popcorn on Saturdays and the first Saturday of the month is "super Saturday" with everything in the store 10% off.

We in Arlington are so fortunate to have a local dairy that sells to the public. Country Charm does not use hormones in their milk. My family thinks their milk tastes better than any other brand. Their milk is also priced reasonably at $1.99 gallon for non-fat. I only use Country Charm whipping cream for whipped cream. Their buttermilk is also wonderful. It's thick and creamy, not watery like the stuff at the supermarket. Their ice cream is also well worth the trip. I think the creaminess is equal to Ben & Jerry's. It has a very distinctive flavor that I think is great! Try Country Charm dairy, I think you'll be pleased.

My family is constantly on the quest for the perfect burger. One of the standards we measure by is the Fountain burger at this restaurant. It has a beef patty, ham slice, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and special sauce. It's a drippy juicy delicious experience. It's not on the menu so you have to ask for it. Their crinkle cut fries are the perfect side dish. They have hard ice cream shakes, chocolate peanut butter is my favorite. They also have amazing soft serve cones. They are so rich and creamy! The drawbacks at the fountain are the price of the food and the length of time it takes to get it. I always avoid the drive in. You can get stuck in it for a half hour. Much better to go in. If it's a nice day, you can get your food to go and eat the the Centennial Park across the street. The waterfall fountain is soothing and the tiles decorated by local school children are fun to look at.

My kids beg to eat at this local restaraunt. The menu includes hamburgers, salad, sandwiches. Every entree is served with a cookie. The place shines in their ice cream creations. Servings are huge! Their banana split "to share" is large enough for my family of six. They use so much whipped cream, we can't even see the ice cream and everyone gets a cherry on top. They also serve hard ice cream shakes topped with whipping cream that are delicious. Their kids meals come with a beverage and an ice cream cone. I gave it a three star instead of four because their hamburgers are a bit pricey, in the $7.00 range. They do come with fries though. Their hours can fluctuate so call first before going. We'd have spent a lot more money there if every time we went they were open.
