Safeway is where I do the majority of my shopping. The store feels clean and bright. It is laid out in a logical fashion. I am pleased with the quality of the produce and butcher. One drawback of this Safeway is the fish section is very small, with not a large selection. The checkers are friendly and always call me by name. They have the shopping carts that look like a truck in front that my kids love. They take coupons printed off the internet.

When I first started shopping at this Albertsons, I was not impressed with the facility. They don't have all the lights on to save electricity, which can make it seem dingy. It's an older store and you have to grab your cart outside the store. The carts are often pretty far back in a caged area. Albertsons frequently runs 10 items for $10 sales and they like to put piles of the featured items at the front of the store right when you walk in. I wasn't used to that and I didn't like it when I started shopping here. It felt cluttered and kind of junky to me. I'm used to it now! Their 10 for $10 sales can't be beat. You don't have to buy 10 items to get them for $1 each. I also like the self check out. They often only have one or two checkers open so being willing to use the self check will save you a lot of time. Like all other grocery stores, kids can get a free cookie from the bakery. My daughter also likes to stare at the lobsters back in the butcher section each time we go.

Marysville Pilchuck High School Pool is open some evenings for family swim. It costs I think $8 for an 1-1 1/2 hour swim. That doesn't sound like a very long time, but trust me, when you're chasing kids, it goes very slowly! There is a large pool with a large divider at about the 4' mark. On that side there is a basketball hoop. On the other side of the pool, they throw in inflatable inner tubes and noodles for kids to play on. They have a diving board but it's rarely open. There is also a small kiddie pool about 2' deep. They have a lot of floaty toys them dump in for the kids to play with. Some days when we go, the kiddie pool is nice and warm, other days, by the time the hour is up, my kids have blue lips. They have life jackets for the kids to use if you just ask. They have a sauna on the pool deck for ages 16+. Washington State law prohibits kids over five from being in the wrong gender locker room, something to think about before you go. You can bring your own lock to lock up your valuables.

I've had the best fish I've ever eaten in my life at Elliott's Oyster House. It was so fresh and flavorful! I've eaten there three times and wish it was 20 times! They specialize in oysters and have many different varieties available on the half shell. You can also get them "Rockefeller" which is how I like them. Their fish tacos are great. They have a nice waterfront location but the windows all look out into the businesses next door and not out into the Puget Sound. The bathroom is very posh, with dispensers of hand lotion and mouth wash. We tucked in her one evening before a show and when we told them we were in a hurry, they got us out in plenty of time. They sometimes have coupons in the newspaper in the spring where you go and they mail you a coupon for the cost of your meal good off a future visit.

My family is always in search of the "best" burger. We look for one where all the elements come together to make the taste buds sing. Fat Burger come close to the ideal. Their burgers range from large to huge. You can add cheese, chili, onion rings, BBQ sauce, fried egg to the standard burger toppings of lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo. I had a burger with onion rings on it and a side of onion rings and was very pleased. They have nice milkshakes but I've been spoiled by places with 30 different choices. Here it's chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. The wait staff was very attentive.

Marysville has a nice tea shop tucked one block off State Street. Attic secrets is tastefully decorated in the Victorian ruffled theme. Tables are situated close together in three separate rooms. They have several different tea options differing in how many different treats you get. They're desserts are fine but many taste like they were assembled from packaged mixes. I am absolutely addicted to the chicken salad sandwich. I don't know what makes it taste so good to me, I only know sometimes nothing else will satisfy. The sandwiches are served with soup or salad and a cookie.

I am amazed at how crowded the Golden Corral is! We went for the first time and it cost our family $50 to eat here. Not exactly a bargain! The food had the problem of looking tasty and tasting like nothing. They have a chef who mans the grill and will make you a burger or steak to your specifications. They also highlight a different thing each day. The day we went was Mexican day so we got to have burritos, tamales, fajitas in addition to the regular buffet items. One thing that's nice is they post nutritional information right on the label for the food. They have a large dessert buffet that looks delicious and tastes less than stellar. Stick with the soft serve ice cream! We got there right at the change over from lunch to dinner. My son was very sad to see the chicken nuggets taken away, apparently they're not a dinner item. We won't be back.

I've read the other reviews and I guess I'm in the minority because I love eating at the Cheesecake Factory. Some of my favorites include: Luau Salad, Chicken Madeira, Chicken Croquettes, the complimentary brown bread, and the peanut butter cookie dough cheesecake. The drawback to eating here is they don't take reservations so you almost always have to wait. All the portions are enormous, doggie bags are a common site leaving the restaurant.

Trader Joe's is a fun place to shop. The worst thing may be fighting for a parking spot in the busy parking lot. The atmosphere of the store is fun. The employees wear Hawaiian shirts, there is a bit of tropical decor. Every time I've gone they've had samples of something. They have unique sauces and condiments that are very reasonably priced. The dark chocolate covered pretzels are wonderful! They have a nice selection of unusual cheese that is inexpensive. I always buy my cooking chocolate here as they have a good variety. I also buy maple syrup, gnochini, and nuts here. It's a fun place to shop.

I went to Than Brothers after reading a review in the Seattle Times. I was not disappointed. Their location isn't the best for grabbing customers not intending to stop. They're tucked into the side of a multi story building set back from the road. I was quickly seated and a cream puff brought right out. It was tasty. I got the small chicken pho. I was stuffed. There were plenty of herbs to put in and all the usual garnishes on the table. It was good pho. I got a #9 to go and it's much better than the chicken. Three kinds of paper thin sliced beef make for a flavorful bowl of soup. It's definitely what I'll get the next time i go.
